Anyone have information on where in the contract it stipulates that new hire FO's who will be captain qualified within 12 months are trained as captains?

There isn't...it has to be approved by FAA and Union

Good info, seems it would be beneficial in reducing upgrade training footprint.

This sounds like a good idea, but I kind of think that all that extra work and technically being qualified as a captain (minus uoe), but still getting first year pay is a little insulting.
