Wow thanks for the quick reply and excellent information. I have a fair amount of 121 time but I'm not quite at the 1,000 and am stuck at the bottom of a shrinking regional right now. Looking to make a move, and I think Compass would be a great place to hang my hat for the next few years while I wait on the next step. I keep hearing that MSP is shrinking, has that stopped now with the current bid that just came out or is that continuing to be the trend? I'm originally from Minnesota and would like to get back there.

Again thanks for taking the time.

I won't say DO IT! or stay away, but if you are at a shrinking 121 and you're looking to make a lateral move - Compass is a great choice. I've been through the thorns of airlines and I'm happy here. The guys that have been here are mostly refugees...that being said, most of them are leaving, but the senior captains here are awesome and not bitter.

With previous 121 time - you're ahead of the game. Everyone talks about the flows, but the guys that don't have the flow - have their apps in everywhere - so attrition will be positive movement as well.

With shuttle route LAX/SFO going to Delta, how much SFO lay over are you guys seeing? Or expect to see?

Thanks

They are slowly picking this route up, so we still have a bit of overnights. That being said - I had 4-8 SFO overnights per month this year, but in April I only have 1...but that's just me.

I know compass is now paying for hotel rooms during training, but is training still unpaid? Is several weeks of training home study?

Who ever said training was unpaid?

Guarantee once you get back from home study, and home study is paid as well (~$400 for the two weeks).

LAX will continue to be junior for the foreseeable future, I presume?

Most definitely...

Does anyone know the answer to this question, it's in the gouge - and everyone in the gouges is putting a different correct answer, thanks.

"If you hold a constant Mach during climb-out, what happens to TAS, IAS, and AOA as you approach your level-off altitude?"

All 3 decrease?

No, not all 3 in my opinion. Think back to the definitions and reasons for either increasing or decreasing values of all 3 of those terms indiviually.

TAS increases with altitude, IAS decreases, AOA will likely need to increase due to the decrease in IAS.

Maybe the wording of the question is why people keep giving up different answers. I could see how one could read that, and assume the question is referring to the entire climb, level off, cruise process.
I see it as just "In a constant mach climb, what will you observe about TAS, IAS, and AOA as you climb to high altitude?"
