I would not count on changing to electronic Jepps. From what I've heard from a reliable source, the LIDO product is here to stay. Simply the price Jeppesen quoted was so much higher that we'll never see them. Compass apparently has a designated LIDO person now who's here to "ease" the transition, the FAA approval, and correct the mistakes. I also heard that the final approval is nowhere in sight, meaning - get used to the fact that we will be carrying the flight cases for a while. Honestly, I don't care what we use, I just wanna stop carrying this stupid flight case that I haven't opened for months, except to do the manual revision every 2 weeks! I actually got used to the LIDOs already. (Not a big deal, the same info in a different form.) I just hope there isn't a group of pilots who try to "sabotage" the LIDOs by submitting countless crew reports hoping that TransStates will at the end give up and give us Jepps. That's not gonna happen in my opinion, just prolong already endless certification process.

Um. No. The Jepp quote was $1.2 mil and Lidos are $300k for a year. 4 times.

100% discount (cheaper) of any number is zero. You can't do any better than that.
Now back to watching 404xyz in the Delta TA threads. He's actually making some sense over there!

I heard Lido was free for CZ with the purchase of lufthansa scheduling/flight planning software... So yeah, 100% cheaper sounds about right. Kinda like we are the launch customer/ginuea pig of Lido charts.
There are things I love about lido, just too many weird things Im not a huge fan of but will get used to over time. Once the few errors are fixed, im sure I will be as happy with them as I am Jepp.

The LIDOs are not that big of a deal. It takes some getting used to, but it's better than carrying jepps. I prefer to concentrate on upgrading so I can gtfo than worry about LIDO charts.

Would I prefer the Jepp product, yes. Why? It's the worldwide industry standard (for good reason) period. However, I used the Lido products exclusively while in training and took to them quickly. Full disclosure: I'm a military guy so my experience with Jepp products was VERY limited.
Frankly, I prefer the presentation of the Lidos over the Jepps, especially the LVC for ground ops. What I don't like, for example, is having to review the SIDPT on a separate page than the SID itself. I also wish, as others have noted, that important things like speed restrictions on STARS were more prominent. I've found if I look I can find everything I need. Spelling errors aside, has anyone actually found the charts to be in error with what's in our navigational database (which I believe is a Jepp product)?
I've learned the hard way that you must read those imbedded, albeit small, notes on the charts. I can't recall finding something that violated our OpsSpec...just had to dig for the truth. Example, published RVR for an approach is 1000, but our OpsSpec requires 1200. There was a note...and I missed it the first time, but it's there. Training, right?
Moving forward as we (CPZ) integrate the Lido products, I plan to "trust, but verify" just like I did in the military. If you think Lidos are terrible, ask any Air Force pilot how many regs we have to consult before finding the "gospel" answer to our question.

My biggest issue with Lidos has been the app. Has been very buggy for me.
