That seems crazy. They'll pay for your interview ticket but not for you to get to orientation?

Majority of people who used to get hired by Compass were prior 121 or local so getting to training wasn't a big deal.

You should be given a positive space ticket to attend company required training.

I agree, but that's not what happens when you come to Compass.

Listen to you guys, complaining because you weren't given a free ride to work. Grow up. You're an adult and as an adult it's your responsibility to get yourself to work. My airline never said, "Oh, here, let us buy you a ticket to work!" .. nope, they said "Congrats and welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing you on Day One."

Talk about self entitlement.

Many folks may live locally or may wish drive to indoctrination. For those who don't arent part of this group I don't think it's unreasonable for a company to "offer" positive space if required. This may hold true particularly if training is split up at two locations. At payrates of $30/hr or less, I think the term "self-entitlement" is hardly appropriate.

Sorry, but if you took a job in Minnesota, guess what.. YOU TOOK A JOB IN MINNESOTA. Get in your car or pull out your credit card and go to Airline Tickets and Flights to Worldwide Destinations - Delta Air Lines.

I've never heard of companies paying your way to come to work but please list some if you know of any.

I'm pretty sure for any training that takes place out of your domicile a company will provide positive space to that training event. But expecting a company to positive space you to your domicile?! That's ridiculous.

Not to say I disagree with your comment. Just wanted to add: some regional airlines give positive space tickets to/from job interview. And positive space to day one of training. I know. I also got upgraded to first class 2 out of the 3 legs. So maybe they're comparing that to other regional airlines which do offer more. Just sayin...
