Hanging the release from up top does 3 things for me.

1. Is quicker to "make" because it requires fewer folds. I'm lazy pt 1.
2. Allows more information to be seen without needing to touch it. Even if it's not time sensitive. I'm lazy pt 2.
3. Makes it easier for my FO to read since it's not super far on my side (and I don't have to worry about a fed complaining that I have a placard covered with the release if it slides over).

Maybe hanging the release from the ceiling blocks the view of traffic for the jumpseater some, but certainly not myself or my FO.

I know every time I was an FO who flew with a captain who hung the release from the ceiling I'd thank them for making my job easier since I could easily read it when needed for various checklist items.

Well done video but whyyyyyyyy show captain on captain flying to attract new FIRST OFFICERS?!

This is the equivalent to when Skywest had two old dudes flying on one of their recruitment videos. I want old and grey at mainline not lifers at a regional.

What is the mel sticker on the FO side? Clock, ELT, or gear handle? Lol who needs that stuff anyways

all perfectly valid!i do kind of feel like I'm hogging it when I fold it that way. Most fos still just grab it when the need it... Or at least ask if they can take. I'll tell them to do what you need... It's yours to!

I should clarify... It doesn't block the view. It's like when something blocks thecorner of the TV. You can still see perfectly fine... It's just annoying. Lol like when closed caption is on you can't NOT read them.

Congrats in the mean time... If you guys get more Great! It’s a good start. Not a rockstar raise. Higher than Envoy CA rates. Also no bonuses for CA at Envoy.

In 5 years you guys should be at Mainline. If your still at a regional in 5-6 years it’s nobody’s fault.

Get your apps out ASAP, Spirit’s new TA is ratified, much higher career pay, great stepping stone or career destination as well.

P.s Wishful thinking CPZ gets EDV rates... Delta chose them, they are WO, Delta has deep pockets. Just a reality check.


Congrats in the mean time guys! I know you will get more as others FFD/WO’s increase their CA rates. Attrition in 2-5yrs will skyrocket at the Regionals as the BIG 3 retire thousands, UPS growth and FedEx growth takes place. Also Frontier and Spirits growth.

Be patient. They will throw money your way.

No kidding man! I remembered when I was FO my CA got a 12m line check and the LCA debriefed that ‘Embraer 175’ in the middle is a placard and shouldn’t be blocked! WTH?!

Yeah I got a debrief about that on my fed ride. I get the principle.. Mall the same I'm going to keep doing it my way... Just like I'm going to keep not announcing entering/leaving sterile.

Last night was reading the memo about how we “can’t use 3rd party apps to adjust van and show times. Crew scheduling will notify the crew if there is a delay”

aaaand just arrived on time at BFE airport to find out from ops that the plane is three hours late. No notification from CS or in IOCC. Ridiculous.
