Thanks,
Age,

Vacation that was awarded to you after bidding on FLICA gets loaded into PBS as a "pre-assignment" although switching bidding software soon so who knows how itll work.

Year one is 0 days of vacation if I recall correctly. Year 2 is 7, Im starting year 3 and just got 14 for the first time. Someone correct me on Year 1 vacation if thats incorrect.

Does 1 day of vacation drop a whole trip or does the software just secure that day off? Jepps digital or paper?

Youre vacation will be loaded before you bid for the moth. So you basically won't get a trip assigned during those vacation days.

We use IPads for charts provided by LIDO - Lufthansa product

Why are they not able to keep up with this stuff?! It seems the mx issues are snowballing and getting worse, especially over the past few months.
LAX is extremely short staffed on the MX side. They have a newer mgr that wouldn't let anyone have overtime even though they needed the bodies. Another big issue is parts on hand. They do not stock enough parts that they really need. There needs to be a serious overhaul of the MX operation. Why do we write up and defer things that the QRH cleared and never came back? I've talked to friends at other airlines and they all say the same thing, they only defer if it's a recurring issue. If these airplanes sneeze we have pilots that write things up.

Agree! I had a broken cup holder, 2 weeks later same airplane still broke. So we wrote it up....Now it's an NEF. But hey, at least it's in the book!

You probably never reference the mechanical irregularity chart. Do you?... What's it say to do...

Tell me how many boxes state "enter the mechanical irregularity in the aircraft logbook"? Count the boxes for me.

Maybe you should choose to attack company policy. Not your pilot group.

A couple on the modification line and one or two in Heavy checks. MX is the biggest problem right now..mostly in LAX. New hire classes will run weekly instead of bi-weekly like it's been. Upgrades will be ramped up too...they say it's because of high attrition.
Appreciate the run down.

The majority of that was about company policy. Only one sentence mentioned a small group of people.
