Well they could always fly them at mainline. But for us to fly them yes, scope needs to be adjusted as I understand it. If the new TA has no changes to current 76 seat scope ( I think they wanted to accelerate retirement of 50 seaters for new 76 seaters, 2 for 1 or so), then there isnt a way for us to get more DL planes until that does change, or they come from another regional carrier.

You must have not listened to the last conference call. We are actively pursuing new airplanes from the 2.3 billion dollar acquisition of 76-seaters Delta will make. Endeavor is opening a JFK base which will shrink their MSP operations. The Delta MEC has already agreed to amending the scope clause, otherwise Delta wouldn't be spending the 2.3 billion, and I do think their new TA will pass soon. Furthermore, remember that we are also in the process of obtaining over water certification as requested by AA. It's not a rumor, it's a fact. At some point the Caribbean flying may come. You can fact check all this by just reading the daily digest from Alpa on your inbox.
What email from alpa are you referring to? Last one I got was the 29th of sept. I dont see the above information.
Edit: It appears my alpadaily was going into the spam box.
After reading the article about the purchase, it clearly states the jets have not been purchased, pending approval from the pilots union to expand regional flying for delta. So E175 purchases, do in fact rest upon the scope language in the TA. I guess we will wait and see.

I know the Delta TA hasn't passed yet but it looks as if this one will. When it does, scope will be relaxed. That is part of the deal.
Yes, we'll wait and see, but, CP wanting to go back to hiring 40 month again when they said 20 can't possibly be just for attrition. 20 is for attrition. 40 is for something else. Just my two cents. I hope I'm not wrong.

This is of course all speculative, but, management did say in the last conference call that if Delta does purchase the jets (which I think will happen) that they are in line to getting some of those planes from that purchase. This is the first time I ever heard something as solid relating to new flying for us.

Delta wants the regional airlines to fly additional 76 seaters, not just replace old 50-seaters, but fly additional. Right now, Delta is all scoped out. Their side of the new agreement, what they want to do, is to relax the scope so that will happen. The union is against it, they don't want to see that happening. But if Delta spends 2.3 billion buying 50-70 new jets, where do you think they will go? To mainline? No. To serve to replace 50 seaters? Maybe some, but I doubt it. If the 2.3 billion purchase happens it's because the scope would have to be relaxed. Delta will do anything in its power to continue saving moolah by outsourcing their flying for as long as they possibly can.

Here is my take on that whole thing. That 2.3mill aircraft purchase article was about 2 weeks to late. I believe Delta was looking at the ERJ's when the first Version of the TA has 50 more (thats about 2.3 at "list" price).. Then Delta ALPA held ground and so that artical is a few weeks behind the game. Games moving fast these days..

Watch delta just brand another airline again, like Delta Song.
