Glad you guys finally got a bonus. Here is a tip: be happy for the new hires who have a liveable wage. Don't bust their balls because they timed it right and got lucky. You are senior to them and will get to a major first and make that money up and more. Be happy you will be able to hire people and have upgrades.

Hasn't every other airline been doing this for years? And how is it so bad that new guys who sit the most reserve with the least days off and the worst schedules makes a little extra? Again, almost every other regional has been doing this for years. Saying "it's not fair we want more too" seems funny
Sure it would be nice if we got massive payscale increases but this is a regional airline

Making the statement "but this is a regional airline" is exactly what has gotten this industry to where it is today, two groups of people with the same skills sets doing the same job for massively different pay!

I'm not hating on the new hires, in fact I AM happy that the bottom is coming up and the wages are more livable. I remember how hard it was getting by for that first year, it wasn't that long ago. I'm just sick of the company picking and choosing when they want to play by the rules and stick to the CBA.

And I'll also throw my name in the ring as one of those ****ed off New hires will make less than 10 bucks an hour more than me. So what if they are on reserve? So am I, and I'd be willing to bet a reserve captain is going to work a bit harder than a reserve fo. Frankly, it tells me the company doesn't care about us, the people who have made this airline work for the last few years, as much as an off the street hire. That's my issue.
I certainly don't take it out on the new guys getting a bonus. Good for them! I'd cash that check gladly... As should they.

If I was a 21 year old RATP CFI who just finished my first IOE at Republic, I'd be spreading the same rumor. Just because we fly similar jets doesnt mean there's any connection. Besides didn't Republic just emerge from bankruptcy?
