Well it's obvious that the CPO has your back. They want to have the facts before they make accusations against pilots for things.
Hopefully the union will address this.

It's one thing if pilots are actively ignoring CS during time they're actually on duty, but another if they're in days off etc that the contract says that they don't have to pick up.

My questions to the individuals involved would be: when did CS contact you? Were you on reserve? Did you acknowledge the pairing on IOCC? Did you try calling CS back and if so did it go to voicemail?
Essentially I'd want to know what actually happened in order to resolve the issue.

Hey guys. Quick question. I'm currently an FO at another regional. Based in the midwest but living in LA. I got the call from CPZ to interview and I am heavily considering it. I'm only about 3 months into my current company and have <100 hrs. 121 time so this isn't at all about upgrade opportunity but about cutting my commute down from a 4 hour flight to a 20 minute drive. Worth it? Biggest mistake of my career? Something in between? Any constructive input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Living 20 minutes away will be awesome you'll definitely get LAX. Movement has started again if upgrade isn't a priority right now it'll probably take you about 2-2.5 years or so this all depends on attrition at the top. Based on your experience it'll probably take you about 18 months to get upgrade mins anyways. No sure how long you'll be on reserve but we have guys on 8 months now I believe but this was mainly due to the hiring freeze because we were overstaffed.

However negatives our contracts with our mainline partners end in 2020 both Delta and AA. It's still early but what I'm saying is with an airline that isn't owned by a major it isn't guaranteed. In 2010 we got 5 years with Delta I heard and in 2015 we got another years until 2020. So will it go until 2025? No one knows. We have no flow or guaranteed interview process with anyone so you'll have to do it the traditional way. Also there's no immediate growth but the company does say they're looking for more flying.

Also do consider that leaving your current company after only 3 months will look bad on your resume. "So why did you leave Company X?" "I didn't like the commute" "Oh..."

Don't get me wrong - I sympathize with you, I've commuted from LA to MSP and it sucks, but I do think you need to think strategically.

Moral of the story, the airlines and employers are the customer here. Only THEY can enact change...if they so desire.

Let's be like the United pilots. Show up at the time you always have. If the bus takes you 50 minutes to get to the terminal, so be it. When flights start going out late maybe someone at CP will lobby for them to go back to the original routes.

BTW: I actually liked the new routes. Yes, it was a little walk but the busses flowed like one after another. There was never a wait, and they were never stuck in traffic. Wish they could have just found away to get a stop closer to T7 for the UAL guys.
UAL pilots have their own lot off Century somewhere.

Just had a Mesa FO on my commute say they are hiring and to come on over. Thanks man, I needed a good laugh today.
