You may have a sim partner not up to snuff, you might not have a flow down pat.....seems pretty severe. The goal should be to give people who put forth the effort to get them through. Why would one go to Compass knowing that they are not in teaching mode but rather you should know it cus you had cbt mode. This practice in our industry needs to stop

It’s not one and done dude. We just don’t drop you and move onto the next new hire because you forgot a simple flow or call out or because you failed a training event. You get a couple tries and then if you still can’t hack it, then it goes to the training review board just like any other airline. For all the new hires, stop thinking that compass training is god awful and harder than any other airlines in the industry. Again, show up prepared, know your call outs and flows like the back of your hand, be able to say your call outs while watching tv and not just in perfect order but in random order as well, and have a positive attitude.

Interesting, is there a source for this somewhere?

Anyway these fines are common among major and regional airlines. SKW was fined 1.23 Million not long ago.

We were told on orientation day before we were sent home for cbts to know everything before we come back and essentially that's somewhat true. They want you to show up knowing the GOS quiz 100%, basic systems knowledge, all your flows and memory items, and an idea of the procedures. They want to spend the time to teach you how to fly a new airplane/fms, not hold your hand while you try to remember 1 out 10 memory items.

If you know memory items verbatim, flows and call outs, all the sopa/smac scripts going into class you should be sitting pretty. I'm guessing the ones with trouble are assuming this is like sophomore year at [insert 141 college] and they'll be taught everything. Nope, we ain't got money for a good scheduling software we ain't spending it on training 23 year olds.

How about you go through new hire training before you start complaining about how hard it is. The only thing you're expected to have down 100% is memory items and limitations. This training program is not hard if you forth a little effort.

I think it’s the “70%” wash out rate that has some people freaked out. But they are not taking into account that was when only like 4 dudes would show up for a class when we started hiring again

I'm not trying to **** all over the training there. I appreciate any feedback. I have been working my ass off learning this ****. I have the flows down, I have the memory items down.....hell there is only 8. I have a descent grasp of the systems, I have been flying jet aircraft with glass and fms for a long long time.....I have been pouring my heart and soul into this......and yes the mention of a 70% failure rate freaked me out.

You clearly have spoken to 0 guys and gals at the majors. The training here is not that difficult. If you put in a decent effort you will make it through no problem. If you can't, you shouldn't be flying people around.
