I've heard that management is on the prowl looking for uniform shenanigans. I've seen a pilot pulled into the Chiefs office because he walked in with a North Face jacket into the crew room. How do I know if it was a uniform issue, because I overheard the pilot talking about it later. Not sure if the pilot was commuting, or off duty, etc..
I also heard they are watching FO's to see if they have their vest on during the walk around. Must be boring around the office or looking for excuses to throw shade on peoples file, so maybe they wont go elsewhere.

What a lazy, over used, and stupid line of reasoning. That’s just like hearing “oh LAX pilots are unprofessional” Just beceause someone was born in a certain year (or picked a certain base) doesn’t dictate their behavior. Just like it always has been, each individual is different. Most guys are cool as could be but there will always be some that are FOM hall monitors. Always have been, always will be. But oh, it must be to so fun for those of us that are 5-10 years older to pass it off as a label applying to whole generation
That said, I agree, reporting stuff like that to standards is absurd.
It also should be said that some CAs here are a little too comfortable in their seat and at times are embarrassingly unprofessional in front of passengers and station crews. Rather than labeling all Generation Y guys as unprofessional jerks that set bad examples, we can be mature enough to say that 99.5% are safe pilots, great guys, and patient/helpful mentors, while maybe that .5% should grow up.
Hope no one takes that as a jab, just an example

Just going to say this about the people that feel the need to tattle on fellow employees...This is a small industry. Word travels fast and people will find out who you are. We are all adults. Your job description doesn't include being the uniform police. Also if you feel the need to be Captain America, please do everyone a favor and tone it down a notch. No one likes those types.

I can agree with that, but please tell me where the FOM states that we must be in uniform anytime we are in the crew room/on a commute? I’ll wear whatever I feel like when I’m off duty, I suppose they could argue that we are not allowed to use the crew room when off duty

Pro standards is not the hat and shoe shine police, they don’t want to hear about that crap. Matter of fact, there are only a handful of people at this company that can enforce uniform compliance. Hey kids, If you have an issue that your colleague isn’t wearing their uniform per the FOM, guess who you tell.....THEM

Which many of us do on the commute, as do countless others in this job and have been for many years. How is this possibly a problem. We aren't on duty .I guess the lesson is don't you dare commute in uniform if you don't want to be incognito.

A. Wearing of the uniform will be limited to when on duty, when on special assignment or when in transit to or from duty.
B. PICs and SICs will only wear a complete uniform as described below. Other items are not authorized.
D. Uniform combinations or variations other than those stipulated below are not authorized.
6-16-6
Hat
A. Compass Airlines hat emblem and hardware as sold by the designated Company uniform supplier will be worn when the pilot is in public outside the aircraft.
It’s crystal clear in the FOM. Either you’re in compliance or you’re knowingly breaking FOM.
Yes, no one should get reported or in trouble for this.
But honestly? No one should ever have to report it, or discipline someone for it; because it should simply never happen. It is so easy to control that it should be an impossibility. We’re airline pilots, not 14 year old girls fighting the school dress code. This shouldn’t be an issue, especially with Captains. Obviously it is becoming a problem, so the company is enforcing it.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Yah, no I'm just saying if the person walked into the crew room with a personal jacket over a uniform, maybe AO or whomever saw it and said something. I'm just speculating, I have no idea.
