Hey everyone, I recently got lucky and was approached by someone looking for a pilot to fly their newly purchased 58 Baron. I was wondering what is you guys are seeing for day pilot pay rates. Thank you in advance

Hopefully that was for one trip per month. In the late 70's I flew cancelled check in the northeast in a Piper 300. Was paid an hourly rate of $40.00 an hour. Did about 3 hours a night 5 nights a week paid $300 a week. Sure earned the dough during the winter months.

Supply and demand was a bear in the late 90s/early 2000s. Flying for Ram Air Freight in 2001/2 the rate was 60 or 90 per day depending on the run. 1300-1900 gross per month...

I am a 20 y/o commercial pilot/cfi looking to advance my career. I'm currently sitting at 1020TT with all of their other minimums met and will reach their TT mins in about 3-4 months.
You don’t have the experience to say no to a demanding owner who thinks because he pays he owns you.
Don’t know how much ME time you have and if it’s low you may not even be insurable in the airplane.
That’s no longer a toy airplane and I’m guessing the owner(s) have no idea of potential risks.
Icing? Let’s go it’s got deice
Weather? Let’s go it’s got NEXRAD
However tempting this may be, take a good look at yourself and walk away.
If you do decide to take the job then charge them $50/hr because that’s what your experience is worth.
Sorry to have to be this harsh.
