Default Single pilot C560 operations

We're looking at picking up an Ultra in the near future with the intention of operating two pilots for the first year to built the mandated 200 insurance hours before they will cover single pilot ops. After the first year we'll have the single pilot waiver which will be used for the non business flights.

My question is what limitations if any are placed on the single pilot waivers in the c560 Ultra? Is there a weight restriction and how do the insurance companies look at and treat the whole thing?

Thanks to all in advance.

I cannot speak for the Ultra, but single-pilot in a CJ is a piece of cake with no insurance restrictions...and insurance wasn't unreasonably priced at all.

I don't think there are any restrictions/AFM limitations on any of the CE500 series if you're flying under a SPW.

Also - why is insurance requiring 200 hours in type?!? Unless the pilots are really low time or have little/no jet experience, that's ridiculous...

We've been flying a Barron for several years so we're stepping up to the Ultra. Although I have a little jet SIC time and 500 turbo prop I only have 2000 tt. The insurance is going to require 50 with another typed Pilot and then 200 in type for single pilot ops.

Just what we want in aviation: another 2000hr no turbojet time pic flying the jet airways! Just because your insurance company will insure it (it will be at a much higher rate than an experienced PIC) does not make it smart.
Please tell me the tail number so I can fly another route or park my plane until you clear the area at Teterboro or any other high density airport.
Also, "we will only fly single pilot on non passenger legs" does not cut it. You set the standard so low, there is no way to save the sinking ship.
Be smart, do it right, hire an experienced PIC, you passengers deserve better.
My passengers who share the same sky also deserve better!

Well let me tell you Mr "Top Gun my stuff don't stink". Yea maybe I've only got 2000 hours but I've flown right seat with several of you high time Greater Than God jerks to know TT isn't everything. If 500 hour pilots can fly combat and the son of a heavy pilot can get hired at United as a 1200 hour FO. Then I can step into an Ultra with King Air time. So next time you see me at Teterboro why don't you just kick yourself in the rear and go drool in your log book!!!

I'm sorry everyone else had to be dragged into this but I've seen to many rude people on this forum that don't seem to have enough of a REAL LIFE and, therefore, find it necessary to spew their garbage at others.

Okay. Apparently you did not read the man's complete post. Miss the part about 500 TP time? Sounds like this gentleman has paid his dues, is going about it properly. I'd rather have this guy flying me instead of the 350 hr wonders at the regional I worked at learning to fly the jungle jet. Just how many hours did YOU have when they let you go in a jet? Just curious...

Hey zyttocs, you just keep going down that path. In my 36 years in aviation, I have seen these types come and go. It's the same in any industry. The attitude and reputation precedes them, as well as hitting them in the a** on the way out the door. You are doing things as they should be done. Keep up the good work, and congrats on the upgrade!

Thanks wizepilot. I just had to vent and I’m sorry it had to happen in front of everyone. This has actually changed the subject of this post. Maybe it In my case 80% of my time is cross county, 1000 multi, I’ve owned 4 aircraft, I’ve flown 1200 hours part 91 corporate for four companies should have been titled “What makes a competent pilot?”.
in their planes of which 1050 was PIC, 500 TP, coast to coast boarder to boarder, flight levels, and yes I’ve been into Teterboro, Las Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, and more. I know there are a lot of higher time pilots out there that I can still learn a lot from, but I believe my time has been “quality time”. I have come to know MY limits and work within those limits. I’ll drop it here and move on now that I’ve vented. I hope everyone had a good weekend.
