Dont you understand that all those things you’d like to have go hand in hand with the virus? You can’t have them
while there’s a pandemic. You certainly won’t have them by ignoring it. One big example is the aviation industry, we’ve tried our best to ignore it and put on a happy face, but the passengers still won’t come.

I've always found traffic lights an inconvenience. I certainly don't need a government installed light machine to tell me when I should stop and when I should go. I'm not going to comply with that sort of draconian dictatorship anymore.

No red light caused a pilot furlough, business shutdowns, or even a controversy.
Seriously, are you even a pilot? Step away from APC and take a breath of fresh air.

This was said at the beginning at the outbreak, but it bears repeating:
If everyone stayed in their homes for 4 weeks, this would all be over.
So yeah, when you see someone complain about masks, you should mock them. Be angry at them. They are the ones who are costing you your job.

So obviously he hasn't evolved from his position from months ago. One thing he's absolutely wrong on. It's not survival of the fittest, it's survival of the richest. The rich will have the resources to remove themselves from high risk scenarios where the poor will not. The rich will have access to high quality healthcare to keep them breathing, and the poor will not.
This natural selection nonsense is complete and utter propaganda. We aren't living on the plains of the Sub-Saharan savanna. We have a very unequal society which completely takes Darwinism off the table.
So coldly in return, Speed Select, I say take your economic hardship like a man. Your poor excuses for the deaths of hundreds of thousands are revolting and prejudicial at its core.
Those who prioritize the economy over health will get neither.

The rest of your post is just straw man and grandstanding.
And yes, I wear a mask when I go out. But do I still need to social distance if I wear a mask? I thought you wear the mask if you can’t social distance?! Yet they tell me to do both at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Science says a cloth mask can’t stop a virus, but I’ll play. And Fauci said he initially told us masks weren’t necessary/didn’t work in order to protect the supply for health care workers? Instead, why didn’t he just tell us to make our own masks like everyone ended up doing anyway? Yet now, 6 more weeks of mask wearing will eradicate CV? Imagine if we did that 6 weeks of mask wearing 6 months ago?! It’s difficult to follow that guy sometimes.
Oh, and should we shut down for the flu this winter? Or are 60,000 deaths an acceptable number to you? Just trying to figure out where you stand.

You sound angry. I'm sorry you're worried about furloughs. But let me make one thing clear, it's the ones who want to pretend that everything is fine that will cost you and others their jobs. Every denier that carries on and spreads it to another makes this nightmare go on another day. If you want to be angry, be angry at them.
This was said at the beginning at the outbreak, but it bears repeating:
No more travel bans. No more worthless passports. We could get on with our lives. But instead, we'll struggle through this until next year sometime. Because we were too cowardly to face it head on, and too selfish to make sacrifices.

Angry? Hardly. I’ve been truly having the time of my life. And my airline isn’t furloughing. Again, are you even a pilot?
Maybe you can explain this one to me, how do you get a positive test if you never get tested because you drove off because you simply didn’t have anymore time to waste sitting in your car while you were fine and never subsequently got sick? Does filling out paperwork make you test positive automatically? It seems to be the case, and not exactly isolated either.
Conversely, every ER admittance get tested for COVID-19 even with no symptoms or complaints of Covid. In other words, a traffic accident or a gun shot wound victim, or someone who got injured by being a “peaceful” protester all get tested and the test being incentivized to be positive (see previous paragraph), and suppose they die. By news media accounts, that’s another COVID-19 casualty which fuels Karen-like behavior. I won’t even go into “presumptive COVID-19” label being mixed in.
See, I was around during SARS, and then around various strains of H1N1 where similar number of people died. I was also in the Middle East for years when MERS was a thing. I also flew around West Africa during the most recent Ebola outbreak. Ebola was by far the scariest, but none of those events were politicized like this and we certainly didn’t act like a bunch of hypochondriac scaredy-cats. Not to mention the fact that the CDC and western governments were actively invited to help unlike this Wuhan special. We also didn’t financially or politically incentivize every positive test or death.
Let’s face it. This virus is serious. Not denying that. However, the reaction doesn’t warrant anything that was historically done in similar circumstances.
Most normal people can see it - partisan hacks cannot.
Don’t bother replying... I’m not interested.

It’s not about you, it’s about everyone. Ironically you don’t realize your type of mentality cost pilots their jobs. You’re not being brave you’re being arrogant.
