Maybe you can explain this one to me, how do you get a positive test if you never get tested because you drove off because you simply didn’t have anymore time to waste sitting in your car while you were fine and never subsequently got sick? Does filling out paperwork make you test positive automatically? It seems to be the case, and not exactly isolated either.

Conversely, every ER admittance get tested for COVID-19 even with no symptoms or complaints of Covid. In other words, a traffic accident or a gun shot wound victim, or someone who got injured by being a “peaceful” protester all get tested and the test being incentivized to be positive (see previous paragraph), and suppose they die. By news media accounts, that’s another COVID-19 casualty which fuels Karen-like behavior. I won’t even go into “presumptive COVID-19” label being mixed in.

See, I was around during SARS, and then around various strains of H1N1 where similar number of people died. I was also in the Middle East for years when MERS was a thing. I also flew around West Africa during the most recent Ebola outbreak. Ebola was by far the scariest, but none of those events were politicized like this and we certainly didn’t act like a bunch of hypochondriac scaredy-cats. Not to mention the fact that the CDC and western governments were actively invited to help unlike this Wuhan special. We also didn’t financially or politically incentivize every positive test or death.

Let’s face it. This virus is serious. Not denying that. However, the reaction doesn’t warrant anything that was historically done in similar circumstances.

Most normal people can see it - partisan hacks cannot.

Don’t bother replying... I’m not interested.

You just have no idea about what you’re talking about, especially the first half of your post. Have you been tested? Sounds like you’re up in a cabin somewhere in the woods passing opinions on this matter far far away. As far as the second part, you can’t compare what Covid19 has done to the world with the other modern viruses. They didn’t spread like covid and have not done this level of damage.

Get off APC and go enjoy your day.
These types of people are everywhere on the Internet right now. Strange trolls that are obsessed with COVID, have no medical training, but read a bunch of ridiculous crap on the internet and then tell all of us how dumb we are.

He’s a complete clown.

And their names, coincidentally, are all Karen.

It's a trip to go back to when the outbreak first started in March and April to read the predictions of where this was going. I'm curious if some of those early deniers have evolved their positions. I would guess not. Here's Speed Select's post from two days ago:

So obviously he hasn't evolved from his position from months ago. One thing he's absolutely wrong on. It's not survival of the fittest, it's survival of the richest. The rich will have the resources to remove themselves from high risk scenarios where the poor will not. The rich will have access to high quality healthcare to keep them breathing, and the poor will not.

This natural selection nonsense is complete and utter propaganda. We aren't living on the plains of the Sub-Saharan savanna. We have a very unequal society which completely takes Darwinism off the table.

So coldly in return, Speed Select, I say take your economic hardship like a man. Your poor excuses for the deaths of hundreds of thousands are revolting and prejudicial at its core.

Those who prioritize the economy over health will get neither.

Complete fool. You highlighted the very thing that keeps you alive - the economy.

Nope, none whatsoever. I’ll just trust the nearest Karen, especially the Democrat one, and not my lying eyes and ears.

And then we have reports from the most densely populated places in the world...

Ok because you just stated in the previous post that they’re showing false positives for people getting tested. So I asked have you been tested? Do you want to share with us the result, it’s going to be positive right?? I mean it’s ok to distrust but no need to go into conspiracies. Nobody is trying to take your freedoms.

The current fatality rate for COVID (iFR) for the under 70 population is 0.04%, or about 1 in 3,000.

For those of you waiting for a vaccine, what do you think is going to happen? The vaccine is unlikely to offer full protection from COVID-19, and if polls are correct about 1/3 of Americans aren't interested in taking it. Even with a vaccine COVID will be around indefinitely.

It seems clear the virus can not be contained, so isn't acceptance the only way forward at this point? The rest seems like politically driven, economically destructive science fiction.

So the protection a vaccine offers is prevention of severe disease and a lot of the long term side effects. So yes it will be with us but hopefully not clogging hospitals.

Every denier that carries on and spreads it to another makes this nightmare go on another day. If you want to be angry, be angry at them.

This was said at the beginning at the outbreak, but it bears repeating:

“If everyone stayed in their homes for 4 weeks, this would all be over”

No more travel bans. No more worthless passports. We could get on with our lives. But instead, we'll struggle through this until next year sometime. Because we were too cowardly to face it head on, and too selfish to make sacrifices.

So yeah, when you see someone complain about masks, you should mock them. Be angry at them. They are the ones who are costing you your job.

This explains why some still think socialism is a great idea.... It really is sad how ignorant/innocent folks can believe in such idealism. I’m sorry the world isn’t all rainbows. You can give everyone a billion dollars to solve world poverty.

4 weeks of lockdown would probably kill north of 100 of millions. How many hundreds of thousands would die from no access to medical care? What about no electricity or water? I don’t think the avg American has a week supply of water.

It is a great theoretical idea, it like giving billions to everyone, it just can’t work. Infrastructure takes people to man it, those people need gas, employees have to eat, people get into car accidents, prisoners have guards. And then some criminals won’t follow the rules, there is no one to “shoot on site”.

This utopian idea cannot happen and would kill sooo much more so much faster if we tried it. So please stop floating that idea around, It really just makes people pity your innocence/ignorance.

Come out from under your rock. That ship sailed 3 months ago. You can't take away what's already been taken..

And yes, sat in a parking lot waiting to be tested only to leave in frustration and a week later received positive results. Question authority..
