Where will the displaced 88 folks go?
#111
18 more (to be precise) just added yesterday. I'm a month out from making my decision so I'm watching the class drops very closely. My fear is the rapid climb in seniority through the 88 ranks is going to quickly turn into a complete standstill.

Just like the ol' Capital Gains accounting method...LIFO (Last In First Out) will be alive and well in the ATL M88B category at some point in the not too distant future. 😁

Next fall and winter would be a good time to bid reserve if you don't want to fly..You would probably have to go to the sim to stay current.

[QUOTE=80ktsClamp;2573718]Well, the displaced 88As will go wherever 12323 seniority and more junior can hold... discuss
I bet there are a surprising number of guys that will VD to beat the rush. Things could get very interesting much further up the seniority list.

If I'm wrong please educate me. I'm definitely no expert on how all this works and I'm looking for any help making the decision.
My thought process is this... get assigned to the 88 as one of the last large drops to new hires and then the current rate of flow gets turned off shortly thereafter. Essentially going from 10+ people being added below you every week or two on the seniority list and then nothing for the foreseeable future.
If this were the case could a VD be used to override a seatlock or does it have to be a MD?

A complete standstill is when you are X from the bottom of the entire list and there is no hiring for years.
I sent you a PM

Basically, they cannot go to any CA seat and FO on nothing larger than the ER.
