I assume since your a pilot you have some understanding of range considerations. Without knowing the exact parameters used for range the numbers are virtually useless. Are they quoting full fuel and minimal payload? All seats full but no cargo? 1, 2, or 3 class interior? Is this a IFR range with alternate fuel. Is it based on the perfect altitude profile and speed? What length runway at what pressure altitude?
Real world useable range is often far less than quoted ranges. The current base A330-300 is heavily restricted on TLV to JFK but using quoted ranges it should be easy. Even the 10 increased gross weight aircraft have restrictions. The A330-900 Delta is getting adds only 300 miles in range over the current 242 tonne 330-300’s. There is a proposed but not available version that adds 500 more miles but is going to need a long, low and cold runway.
On the A350 range issue here is a pretty good summary. Delta I believe has the 272 tonne version but guys flying it can give the exact number.

For the rest, I can see how range values vary from manufacturer data to actual performance.

I also heard that the additional 10 will be delivered in the same time frame as our other 25 330neos, which is fabulous.

don't get me wrong, more 330s is great. but how is it fabulous if it's a trade from our highest paying 350s to 330s?

I don't think its trading A350 agreement though. I think they are still keeping A350 at 15, plus 10 options and that deal didn't change.

It means planes that were deferred to an unknown date are now confirmed. 10 premium international widebodies confirmed coming is better than 0 confirmed. Moreover if we adopt paybanding similar to AA and United there is no debate here.

I'm with you on banding. The 330 should pay the top rate--like every other major. Our company has made it clear that the 330 is the future widebody airplane of this company. The problem being how adamantly opposed to pay banding delta pilots are for some unknown reason.

It's official, we just reduced the number of our top paying jobs.
