The problem with 30hr layovers is a typical 3 day will fly 7:45 day 1 - arrive at 11p/12a. sleep (but not too long because you have a 430a van on day 3) then block 7:45 on the last day. For a total of 15:30-15:45 block. Essentially a min credit 3 day that could have been flown in 2 days with a day off at a random outstation.
I’d rather work 2 days in...2 days, and have my day off at home with my family. To each their own though, but they mostly go junior for a reason.

That's one way to look at it. I figure that I'd rather have as few days of suiting up as possible. Most of the 3-days I see are min credit anyway, so I'd much rather choose one that has a full day off somewhere. I find the higher block on days 1 and 3 to be completely worth it.
They do that because they can and because the "optimizer" told them to in order to save a penny. I get the mainline last/first flight marketing aspect of it, but they could easilly build one DH on day 2, usually short so it wouldn't add much credit, resulting in a trip that pays the same or more and has 2 pretty good useable layovers instead of one brunch and go to bed at a toddler's bedtime.
The real issue is the prevalence of these trips. A very small amount is maybe no big deal and allows those who love to be forced to sleep twice during a one day layover while trying to flip their body clock from late arrival to ultra early wakeup in one cycle (LOL) the option to keep bidding those little treasures. Its hard enough flipping circadian from trip to trip, but being forced to do the biologically impossible during a short trip just to save 1.5 credit a DH would generate is not something we should be defending.

I like long layovers as well. But I see very little gain in a crappy trip that works you 8 hours/5 legs/3 planes (always without a single exception) then 30 hours off where you get in after the town closes and have to sleep twice followed by a super early 4AM-ish van time for another 8 hour 5 leg 3 plane day.

What exactly is going on with dtw 330 especially on the b side
It was the biggest base and I know they want to put all the new 330 neos in Seattle and msp but why did they want to shrink it by 90 crews? 30 left without back fill this time but they have said they will displace if they don’t get 90
Have the routes changed? I know dtw-gru is done next year but anything else? Seems strange that you would Shrink a base with 35 planes on order.
Maybe more 350 flying will come to dtw eventually swapping from 330?
