Some got screwed more than others. But it's water under the bridge. Flying past 60 is not a sweet deal, walk in our shoes before you make that case.

I'm sorry....how many people do pilots kill per year( at 275 per) compared to doctors?....I think you missed something.....pilots...even old pilots, ....are relatively "immune" when it comes to killing "patients"

Like it or not....Increase in age as well as single pilot ops are a coming...it's a question of when ...not if[/QUOTE]
True. The end of the world is also coming. It痴 a question of when, not if.

Oh, Fred...you got me there...your logic is irrefutable.

I'm just so stupid some times....thank you for the solace you have provided

So....single pilot ops won't happen till hell freezes over and no one needs to worry about an increase in the retirement age

One more time do maybe this thread can die. No one at the FAA or ICAO is looking at raising the age.

Even in a fully autonomous aircraft, you still need a flight manager, without a captain authority, the operation would fall apart. The future is definitely single pilot, but when, I have no idea.

Provided the world lasts long enough we will see no pilot operations.

I find it a little scary that the first time you're making decisions by yourself in a jet carrying 50-180 pax is fresh out of teaching in a Cessna. The great part of the two man crew concept is there is still a chance for FOs to learn and observe ADM from captains. How does that happen with one guy up front?

The one place where it really needs to spread is the public sector.
