Delta Consolidates Regional Carriers to 3

What the majors want:
Pilots who see the requirements to get hired laid out before them and then set out to accomplish those requirements.
What the majors don’t want:
Pilots who see the requirements laid out before them and then say, “I have a lot of hours. Your requirements don’t make sense. You should offer me a job because I have a lot of hours.”
What the majors REALLY don’t want:
Same as #2 but with several “4-engine-jet” references sprinkled in there.

I'm not arguing that, I'm saying that the degree cost him the flow, he still had the SSP, which didn't require a degree. Delta agreed not to count your education, or lack there of, towards the interview score. For the SSP, it was only how you did that day of the interview, testing, cog, and panel. You could look at it another way, those of us who worked hard in college, got no points over the people who didn't.

I think you guys are mislabeling his point as ‘woe is me’ whining about his own individual situation. He’s trying, maybe unsuccessfully, to highlight the hypocrisy of the C-scale system. His two year degree (or no degree for that matter) is perfectly acceptable to Delta to fly their Diamond members about the country (and CA/MX) so long as he does it for a severely reduced wage. If Delta “truly” believes that it takes a four year degree to safely transport their passengers then they should apply that to all of their flight segments.
In reality DL doesn’t care if you have a degree or not, they simply know they can use it against you to keep you on a lower pay scale.
Unity only happens if you are willing to unite with EVERYONE across the board. Ridiculing someone for not getting a four year degree and telling them they deserve C-scale wages as a result only perpetuates the management win.

I think that argument is more than ten yrs old and it was more than ten years old when i first heard it ten years ago and 20 years ago when he first heard it, it was not a new or novel concept.

Credentials ??? Really ??? Flight Attendant for TWA for 3 years , Flight instructing and 135 captain from 1990 to 1994 ... Metroliner FO for a year , SF340 CA for 7 years , 4 engine Jet Avro Captain for 4 years , CRJ 900 CA for 12 years , 2 year degree , 23,000 hours and 17,000 hrs as a Captain . I’m not sure if you’re a mainline pilot or not , but I’m sure my qualifications Trump just about anyone who would not be currently flying for a “major” ...plus Delta owns the jets I’m flying and they pay me from their bank account and we fly their passengers and all we do is mainline flying .. I’m sure I have probably 3 times the experience u had before u made it to “Delta” ...
