This would still be an issue if they were ALPA.

I am highly confused by all of this. Most of the chatter I skimmed through relates this as stemming from United. How does this carry over to Jumpseat issues on the Delta side of the SkyWest and Republic operations?

Because they're going to deny UA jumpseaters on ANY republic or SkyWest flight, regardless of which banner it's flown under. Doesn't affect us directly.

It doesn't. There are no jumpseat issues on the Delta side and we aren't trying to force them to change their own internal jumpseat priority for their own pilots which seems to be at least part of what their problem with this pressure game from United is.

As far as why this thread is here, it seems some United pilots are trying to get other airlines to deny them so these threads are popping up everywhere. That combined with threats of blacklisting Captains and FOs who are on flights where UAL jumpseaters are denied just seems to me to be playing dirty. I don't even get where the idea of blacklisting an FO who doesn't even own the jumpseat comes from.

Ah, I see thanks for the simple explanation. I was too simpleminded to think that their Jumpseat spat would extend to UA folks on Delta Conx flights.

Yeah, since SkyWest and Republic do flights for so many airlines their elevating their spat to a jumpseat war does have a larger impact than when it's a wholly owned or other carrier.

I honestly would normally expect them to start with just requiring UAL pilots have the same treatment they get on UAL a/c, but I haven't looked into this enough to see how long this spat has really been going on or what they've been doing about it otherwise.

My view on this whole thing is that it is the SkyWest and Republic pilots' jumpseat on aircraft they operate. If UAL pilots want full control of those jumpseats they'll have to get the scope back, and the same applies to us. As far as I'm concerned I do not think DAL pilots have any reason to consider any action regarding this, this is something between UAL pilots and the SkyWest and Republic pilots.

DOH (longevity) is the standard in the UAL system for pass-travel priority. Seniority, different than DOH due to mergers, for UAL j/s on UAL flight.

It removes the "rush to the gate" or not listing for a cabin seat ahead of time in order to beat other pilots on the check-in clock. With Seniority/DOH all that goes away.

Nothing is changing for the j/s priority on Skywest, Republic, Mesa, or GoJet operated flights. It is still own-metal first, then time-of-check-in for UAL/UAX second, and OAL third.

I already heard stories about the guys who don't list so they can bump off a "junior" jumpseater at the last moment. With seniority/DOH you never know if you have a jumpseat. You take the one thing that can be like a sure thing on your own metal and remove it. You can preach the "advantages" all you want, but no one else is buying it.

We can list in advance on a timeline, it sure makes commuting less stressful to know whether you have the primary listing or not days in advance. But things like that go away with a seniority system.

The images posted show that it is changing j/s priority for SkyWest, Republic, Mesa, and Gojet and requiring them to use DOH for their own pilots on their own aircraft. Just because you enjoy adding more uncertainty to the jumpseat doesn't mean other carriers do.

If you want us to discuss reciprocal agreements, both united and delta should be addressing the disparity between us and all other airlines. The fact that they can walk up to our gates and list, and we are stuck trying to either call or list online is a fail. Especially with last minute changes. Just my two cents, that is a change I can get behind .
