Expecting a July class date, live w/in driving distance of NYC, 42 y/o. Family.
At JB for three years and sitting at 65% in JFK on the Bus. Upgrade is years away, upgrade with a line probably eight years away. Currently 3600/4500 system wide. I’ll be 57 years old before I’m top 2000. That said, life is good, enjoy my schedules for now, but I’ll be junior for another 18 years.

The WidgetSeniority site is awesome, and I’m very appreciative of it. However, I’d like to correlate it to some real world data. According to WS, it will take just over four years to sit 63% in NYC on the 73, but on the threads here, it sounds like you can be 60% in less than a year. Where’s the truth? Same with 320.
Goal is to upgrade earlier than I would at JB, or sit NYC WB/B reserve. If I go be WS, I won’t be able to sit 765B until June 2028 (and I realize new hires have recently gotten it).

Also, 320 vs 73N… which has less redeye flying? Does either do more Caribbean than the other?

Thank you!
You seem very informed so I apologize if I'm telling you something you already know, but it bears repeating for others lurking:
All reserve is long call by default and they can only convert you to short call up to 6 times per month! You'd be so set at Delta living near NYC. Especially now when you can roll thunder and camp reserve

After two decades and multiple airlines, I’ve been through two furloughs and am debt free save my <$2000 mortgage. But thanks for telling me how to spend my money.
I couldn't care less how you spend your money. Just don't come begging if you get furloughed and expect me to pay your mortgage. UNA was a one off.

Congrats on being debt free though. You seem to get it. That's rare in this business

Right on.
That reserve policy is killer, and is the ultimate goal in life. Actually want to take part in my kids’ life and keep the first wife!!

Same kind of guy that’s begging for retirement restoration and say that you haven’t paid your dues. Also want age 68

Ny320B is about 150 pilots short. You’ll be 50% in no time, specially as they keep adding pilots into our 350/330s and others start jumping ship to ATL, DTw, MSP, etc.

With 200 pilots a month, you’ll get close to 2,000 by March/April when they will reduce the number to 100.

Unless there’s a big recession + age 68 by end of 2022, you should be alright.

If you're 42 and plan on staying driving distance from NYC, I say come to Delta. Upgrade will be quick, or you'll be able to hold WB FO eventually if that's your jam. WB captain might be out of reach, but you'll still have a good life. Other bases will never have the movement NYC has, but being in NYC I'd say it's worth leaving B6 for DL at your age. Other bases I'm not so sure.
