Since they havent even responded to every section they are stalling because, in my opinion if their counter offers got out into the wild the operation would be more of disaster than it is already going to be.
this is also my thought.

It may be, but they wasted 2+months of free delay by simply going through the motions until the end of March before a joint application for mediation would be in order. Walking away and immediately asking for mediation doesn’t seem consistent with a ‘run out the clock to get through summer’ strategy. If management is full of evil geniuses that are hell bent on not paying a nickel more and simultaneously squeezing the last ounce of work and life from the pilot group, how does potentially advancing the clock towards getting a third party involved work towards their ends?

You do know how long it normally takes to get assigned a mediator correct? Also if you read their side of the story they are still willing to meet until we get a mediator. So if they do meet with the union from now until we get a mediator then they are telling the truth. If they don't negotiate with us between now and then it's just all lip service. Which they have been doing to the pilot group to placate us for the last 9 months...

This isn’t difficult to figure out. Ask your negotiators or reps what percentage pay raise we’re asking for or more generally the total value of what we are asking for.

As I have posted several times by asking for mediation now management does not have to put a table position on the key sections of the contract out until well after summer is over. Most of you have not been here when positions the pilot group found objectionable were put out. Management remembers.

This is key for the union to have strong pilot support. The current table positions of both sides need to be released.

You can listen to what the company says in emails and skyhub posts, but don't ignore the actions that they are taking. Quite often, the message that is being broadcasted is in stark contrast with their actual actions. I, for one, know that I can only be lied to so many times before I recognize that it's my fault if I keep believing the lies.

Whether their (management) position is known by us or not, what IS known is that while Delta is making money hand over fist, they choose not to compensate us for our efforts, so some pilots might choose not to make too much effort this summer in helping to keep the train on the tracks. I just have no idea how they think they are going to keep the domestic operation running normally without us being 100% onboard. (I am trying to be careful with my wording) I actually expected the Company to at least try to get close to a contract by summer. This move was unexpected.

In other words, being insulted by a low offer is only slightly less harmful than being insulted that they gave up and want the NMB to step in. By not having any idea what our ask is, we don’t know if our side is being unreasonable or their side.
