Default MEC Chair and NC Lounge Visits

Did anyone make it to ATL or NYC or DTW for the MEC and NC lounge visits?

If so, mind sharing some info?

Not a lot of detail was given for obvious reasons, but it was nice to see the faces behind the NC.

A few things that I can remember.

-Company's ask even if we get it has nothing but vague details.

-Scope, whatever we gave up .. don't expect to get back. They are trying to lump all our JV's together instead of each one being separate.

-No concessions from DALPA, not one .. everything that has been agreed on so far is a gain.

-Company wants even more flexibility with re-routes , "Endeavor" type of flying. DALPA is trying to get some language in there that re-routes should be used as a last resort (IROPS), company has been using it as a daily tool to avoid even the smallest of delays which have nothing to do with IROPS.

-Ask is big, but nothing like what we heard from the rumor mill. Based off our profits for the past several years, it is right in line.

-Pay rates, all that was said is that with inflation we need a 22% pay raise to get to 04' rates. My understanding is that we are trying to get those.

-We need to make whole our guys that took massive pay cuts in the past, and give the new guys a good future when it comes to retirement and health care.

-First meeting with mediator happened yesterday I believe.

Can't think of anything else ... overall was good.

Wear your laynards, company is noticing.

The above all sounds like good news. Did they mention what the total ask might be as a percentage of our current contract? A 22% ask on pay rates is not unreasonable as a opening position.

While some may scoff at the lanyard idea, it does show guys are engaged. Right now management thinks we’re all happy and really don’t care we’re past our contract. Wearing the lanyard is a subtle way to show you are not. Wear it. Give that old scuzzy Packer lanyard a rest. 😂

From what I remember none asked that, they were mostly just answering our questions.
I personally felt good leaving that meeting, seems like our NC exactly know what we want and are trying to get it.
Everyone seems on the same page.

Did you mean the "old guys" when you mentioned retirement and healthcare? I think the new guys will do fine with 16, or 25% DC for their career....

.
And the cost of doing that business should be properly compensating us with premium pay automatically. I get the company wants to stay ahead of the power curve. And if they need me to do it...fine. but you dont get to have your cake and eat it to. If you are going to treat my awarded rotation as a rough draft, then show me the money. And I might just answer my phone too.

And new guys think you'll do just fine.with your claim/note, frozen pension, an extra 5 years at the top of the seniority list, 15-20 years of 401k, and the stock you got for free from the company. (Yes, I know not all of those were directly earmarked as "rretirement")

Correct.
Just remembered something about this.
From the data DALPA has collected from the pilot group, the younger guys want to get something good passed for the guys that are close to retirement and took two pay cuts already, gives them something to look forward to and the 25% will amount to millions when they're ready to go in about 25-30 years.
