I'm curious of this. Let me know the results.

If you have a 5 day footprint for 23k and they assign a trip that has an overnight in base, are you SOL? I’m looking at a trip that it out of EWR that day one is an out and back and then overnight in domicile (ewr) then does two more days of flying? Is that even a legally built rotation? I’m hoping I dodge it but it would fit. I could try invoking the five hour sit hotel provision. It’s actually written so that this would apply. It says at or away from base and at least five hours. No time limit, no overnight exception.

I’m fairly certain this was two separate rotations that they stitched together. How can I prove that?

From DALPA email 20-07 today:

After recovery #1, the only acceptable change that does not count as a second recovery is if Crew Scheduling removes legs from your original rotation and adds a DH (recovery #1), then subsequently changes that same DH to a different DH (not recovery #2). Otherwise, any other changes are considered subsequent illegal assignments.”

How long should we wait until we make the dreaded 2-hrs-on-hold call to fix their mistake and get the pay we're entitled to?
i have heard people are having great success using pilot assist app to get this fixed...minutes, not hours.

They literally told me to call scheduling and that they couldn’t help.

Is it best to submit an RS or wait on the sidelines? There are a fair number of trips tha would satisfy my obligation.

My understanding is when rerouted into overnight in base you are entitled to a hotel

I understand that but does a 23k assignment count as a reroute? My original schedule had me away from base. That trip would put me at base. I would say yes but I am biased.

If legs cancel after your first flight, are they allowed to do nothing until you report so it all falls under reroute instead of 23k? It seems every rotation on my schedule is broken.
