Projecting Delta’s Loses

That’s why the Pentagon is providing 100,000 body bags to FEMA.
That’s why rows of morgue trucks are lined up at New York hospitals.
That’s why there are thousands of extra funeral urns at Chinese morgues.
It’s not the pneumonic plague but I wouldn’t call it manufactured.
As an airline pilot everything should be on your list. Pilots who fail to know this do so at their own risk. I’m glad we had a pragmatic risk adverse policy at our MEC for as long as we did.
Ironically, we are now better off with a MEC who will be more confrontational.

I said the *panic* was manufactured. I’m not saying the pandemic is manufactured. I *am* saying that while this is a serious issue that warrants decisive action, it is not something about which to panic. I’ve also not seen a single article about “rows” of refrigerated trailers at NYC hospitals.

Projecting Delta’s Loses
To be more accurate on my part they are located at hospitals and morgues.

Uh, so 45 trucks for a city of nearly 19 million people? That’s not “rows” of them at a hospital. This is how the panic gets manufactured.
Did you know that people still die, even if they don’t get COVID? The number of non-COVID deaths is going to go down, but not by that much. There are going to be more deaths than normal for the next 2-3 months. According to your link, the city has added ~2,000 available morgue spots with the trailers. For a city of nearly 19 million.
Elmhurst Hospital, the poster hospital for the panic, has one trailer as of the 26th of March.

University of Pittsburgh Medical thinks they might have a potential vaccine.
But it will take a year, minimum, to test it thoroughly.
Still, this thing won’t be truly over until a vaccine comes through.

Are you talking about the guys who said us young guys would have rocket ship careers and acted like we'd never see a black swan event? That we should pre-fund a massive amount if near term retirements, because you'll be "guaranteed" 25% DC in your amazingly untouched careers? Or are you talking about other guys?

Like I said in the previous post , both sides used "black swan" as a cudgel to further their personal wants and needs. Too many on these forums are "All or None" thinkers. Most of the issues have 2 sides

I can tell you one thing. Jerry's promises of retro and taking as long as we need to were dead wrong. When we finally do get a contract even if it's not concessionary, we probably won't even get a signing bonus at this point.
What was right was me saying these guys were going to retire under the current contract without getting an extra cent yet alone a few hundred thousand. I told you so Jerry.

...that was part of it. But those same guys were against getting a contract cause we went gonna give a thing and our ask was 3B a year. Some were saying let's get er done cause no telling what the future will bring. That was meet with "what go go wrong" ,"my MEC "speaks for me.

Great idea that unity idea. My prediction(seen it before) Unity will stand tall initially, but as this drags on it will erode. Those getting furloughed or on the brink will lose resolve as will some of the others when faced with backwards movement. Hopefully a quick recovery can mitigate that track. Besides, unity for what? Full pay till the last day? I'm down for that, cause I'll be retiring and no outcome will affect me.
I recognize the 20 or 30 keyboard warrior will tend to differ with me but I'm talking the masses. Time will tell
