A vax is not going to be the silver bullet to this crisis for quite some time, if ever, and by then its role in the industry's recovery will very much be a tertiary issue. It may (and more likely than not) will help a bit, eventually. We (the nation collectively) will have to get back to work well prior to that though, or there won't be anything for us to come back to. Well not exactly; there will always be rich people who like to play with airplanes and an endless supply of pump and dump start ups, every once in a while a few of which will go on to become well established. So there's that.
Maybe I triggered you by being critical of the flu vax. If you don't like the actual efficacy of it and what, the CDC, the NIH and the vaccine manufacturer's own labels say about its effectiveness as well as side effects and downline susceptibility to other things, then believe whatever you want. Not exactly very hashtag science of you though.
But keep on chasing those waterfalls.

My bad, I thought the company asked for and received an April rebid. Maybe I dreamed it. And as far as a "definite timeline to Snap back" - you mean if the company does not go back on their word after they enjoy months of a reduced ALV I assume? After all "things might change."

One of the “features” of the Gov’t LOANS is an option for the Feds to take an equity stake in the loanee. It’s doubtful that the C suite “restricted stock” team wants that. I suspect as long as we can leverage current assets and get low rate bank loans, that will be our path.

There's even a story about it on Deltanet. "Thank Congress for Protecting U.S. Airline Jobs," with a link to "... an easy way to thank your Representatives and Senators for their support for airline industry employees nationwide."
That makes no sense.
And if they pass on the money as a way to enrich themselves, and/or layoff employees, I could see it becoming a PR nightmare.
Just because it makes sense on paper doesn't mean it makes sense.

So, we go through all the trouble to lobby for our share of money from the stimulus package and then we don't take it?

One thing that bothers me is lobbying so hard for the grants and getting them, while encouraging so many to take the PLOA’s and telling the employees they will help with the state unemployment paperwork. I understand from a business aspect ($) why but I think it’s pretty sorry to lobby the federal government for financial help then dumping some of your financial burdens on the states. My opinion is that was a calculated move on the company’s part.

Ed is spinning a narrative that the pilots should make concessions to save the company. Has he forgotten that he carved our answer in stone over a decade ago? We have already helped far more than necessary with the April rebid. The company response did nothing more than confirm what our answer will be. Any concessions you make now will be used against you in a court of bankruptcy.

It is clear that management is instituting the divide and conquer playbook. Part of that playbook is to turn all the other employee groups against the pilots to in order to add pressure and help management achieve their goal.
Unless you guys (and gals) and ALPA get ahead of the curve you'll have all the sheeple at this company against you.
