RLL bids don’t drive ALV or TLV numbers, they are the fraction left over after building regular lines that comply with the LCW, which is centered on ALV (TLV is the annual average of ALVs). Think of it this way, with 349 man days of flying in the NYC73 bid package, then assume that each workday is only worth 5:15, how many days does a pilot work to get to 72:00? The answer is 13.7. Now divide 349 days of work by 13.7 and you get 25 and change, meaning 25 pilots can get an ALV average schedule, then one pilot could get a RLL. If some amount of open time is preserved by not awarding, this numbers change a little, but you get the idea. The RLL as a dividing line between regular line holders and reserves has generally been much, much lower down the list. Per the bid pack and using the total category numbers from widgetseniority, that puts RLL at about 11% seniority for captains and about 18% for FOs on the 73 in New York - OUCH.

RLL is basically the number of projected line holders or reg pilots.

Going to be no sharp traffic bounce in June, July or anytime soon.

Unemployment projected to be near 15% by fall, and a slow recovery thereafter. Despite what others have said here, not gonna be a v shaped recovery. Delta and other airlines in serious trouble. Get your finances in order.

At this point I am taking as many 72 hour pay/0 hour work months as I can. Drastically cutting expenses and adding to the cash stock pile for the 0 hour pay/0 hour work years. I wouldn’t even take an SIL if offered at this point.

I never fly reserve but I will in May so I want to verify this. To maximize pay on reserve during a CQ month one should bid off days over CQ?

CQ is pre posted. You can’t bid reserve days over it if you wanted to. Use the reserve pay spreadsheet on the CR page to calculate pay and days off
