Going to NYC, probably more options to get home with a later release, but then you also add the "cover three airports" to your troubles. For those who have never done NYC, JFK to LGA isn't too bad. $25 cab/uber each way (does add up though) anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours depending on time of day and weather. There is no easy public transit option between the two. Trains do not go to LGA.
EWR from JFK isn't insane hard, but involves at least four trains. Airtrain to A or LIRR, transfer at Penn to PATH, then EWR Airtrain. EWR from LGA is more annoying, I think many use a bus. My crashpad is by JFK, so I've never had to do the LGA-EWR trip. Only JFK-EWR.
IMHO, JFK and LGA I can see being co-terminals. EWR is on the other side of a large river/bay, in another state. Even if as the bird flies it's only 12 miles or so.

Wouldn't he will be the last to train in the category he choses, not necessarily the last to train off this bid? The last to train off this bid would be the senior pilot who choses the category with the biggest backlog.

Couldn't #1 conceivably bid something like 737, knowing the training backlog would see him retire before going to training?

You have identified one of the biggest unknowns for commuters in this bid. What will the commute be like after the award/displacement?

[QUOTE=Denny Crane;3056492]I’d think that’s possible but s/he would possibly be taking a hefty pay cut depending on when converted.

Any guesses on most Junior Capt after bid shakes out? I’m going with 8000. NYC. 2007 hire.

Unless they raise the retirement age in the next two months....there is zero chance seeing as he retires in July. 😁

That would be a good guess. Somewhere in the 8000-8500 range after my analysis of NYC seniority.

[QUOTE=blue vortex;3056857]Great minds think alike Blue...lol. I went with 8000 conservatively based on the possibility of all positions posted not being awarded due to training churn.
