SLI jobs on 220, 330, 350

Of course, all seniority list jobs were important, so any time the motion was on, a seniority list instructor was required. Oh, and you had to hold what you taught on, which is not the case here. If you lost your seat, you lost your IP gig.

At NWA, Instructors got positive space, hotels and had a higher non-rev priority, to boot. The only thing I ever heard anyone ever say about it "Good. We want the best pilots across the system teaching, not just those that live in MSP". And this was at an airline that was 80%+ commuters.

I think the bigger issue is that SLIs actually work for their money. That arrangement needs to be reconsidered if they need 100 more SLIs and cannot find them. Why work for 13 days off at 85 hours if you can work a greenslip for the same credit and get about 18 days off? This is a pay issue, not a commutability issue IMHO.

ATL has 4000 pilots, MSP had how many for NATCO? Big difference there wouldn’t you say? Also, hardly any SLIs here that cannot hold the jet they teach on so I think it’s disingenuous to say it’s a big issue.

IP scheduling at NWA also had it's rules (codified in the contract, BTW, so management couldn't just wave their magic wand and change it). Base pay was 80 hours, plus a small override ($600) for 16 events. Those over 16 paid %150, with an absolute max of 19.

I don't think that is necessary. I know a guy here that was a 777SLI after a year or so. He flew it for 10 years overseas before Big D. I'd say he is experienced enough.

And hotels for regular commuter should be also included. They have those at Envoy, 4 a month and if they cancel your overnight and you’re in base, hotel is included without incurring on your bank.

In the middle of those two statements. In your fly month, you get your instructor rate (what you can hold in your seat, so 350 FO for most) for the hours you fly. So what you fly based on what you can hold.
