For pilots to even agree to concessions, Delta has to offer more than saving 1721 pilots from furlough. The offer probably comes with a big carrot at the end, I imagine, or some amazing QOL improvement right now. Delta is looking for a small win at this point, an excuse to not go through the onerous process of furloughing. It wants to be able to tell the other employee groups that pilots took some cuts as well -- and tell the media machine that Delta hasn't laid off a single employee. One thing I gathered from Ed on the webcast is that he wants a deal. He mentioned a couple of times that both parties need to go into a room, 'lock the door' and not come out until a deal is hammered out. It sounds like Delta hasn't given its last, best offer and would entertain a counter offer.
ALPA (our reps and us) need to come to terms with the reality that there is not enough flying to go around. And at the same time come to terms with the reality that furloughs need not be the “industry standard” in a crisis. Life is not black and white and there is always a middle gray. Go into the room, lock the door, and don’t come out until there’s something worth voting on. The end.

Thanks for the tip, Ed.

You don’t trust them because they didn’t offer SILs, after they explicitly stated it may or may not be offered at their discretion? You don’t trust them because they have more than just the pilot group to represent? You don’t trust them because they’ve had the AUDACITY to admit to you that they can’t keep all of us flying at contractual levels in the current revenue environment? Why don’t you stop thinking diabolically for one second and realize we are just one piece in this puzzle. We either fit or we get reshuffled until we do.

Yes to all. They were all agreed upon.
More to consider than the pilot group? You mean union busting or union preventing? Please clarify.
