Masks mandatory at all times?

You can't smoke on a plane. Every airplane Delta owns is sans ashtray on the flight deck now. By $$$$$$$ you mean Altria lobbying, right? Several initiatives have been shot down by them. A pack is 5X the cost it was when I was in high school and you can't do it in any public place except outdoors. Those are quite a deterrent. Vaping is the new threat, nobody under the age of 45 smokes.

Ok, gotta admit I haven't checked any officer drawers lately. The enlistees I know are all about the oil vapes because they can use ANY oil and it all looks the same. I thought the discussion was U.S. centric, my bad.

But none of that is the point. The point is that it is about the money the clown show in DC gets from those companies and those lobbyists every year. Money. That money keeps them in office. Power. That is ALL they care about, on BOTH sides of the aisle. And WuFlu is exactly the same in numerous ways. Keep the population in line, and take their money. This is all about control of the populace.

When I was in college, a pack of smokes was $.65 in Tennessee. It was $.35 in KY, where I was from, and my instructors would have me mule them a few cartons back whenever I went home. Now it is significantly more, but I don't think out of line with inflation in most places. But from a health standpoint, vaping is no different. Still produces by the same blood suckers that made burnable cigs. Still full of toxic chemicals that kill the user in slow increments. And it is a fact (per the CDC) that 480,000 people every year die from smoking related illnesses. Those are facts, and if you want sources I will be happy to supply them.

Sounds a bit like...
You may be too young to remember this, but cars used to come without seat belts. I remember as a kid, my parents had a Rambler with bench seats and no seat belts. We used to slide all over the place in that thing. I thought that was fun!
Anyway, it eventually became the law the cars come equipped with seat belts and shoulder harnesses and it was mandatory that everyone must actually wear them at all times while driving. Boy I remember my dad grousing about how uncomfortable they were and how they were actually unsafe because they “interfered” with his driving. It didn’t matter to him that they could save his life in an accident because, hey, sure some people got killed in auto accidents, but the fact is that most didn’t.
My dad lived to be 87 years old and never was killed in a car wreck.

We're in the lightest flu season on record, so we're doing something right and we'll be seeing politicians in the near future pointing to the facemask as saving xx.xxx number of lives during the 2020-2021 flu season as justification for mandating it's use.
The facemask is the newest fashion accessory. A virtue signal to be worn when you're alone in your own car, and a huge money maker. Just look at the checkout lanes where candy and cigarettes used to be.

And how soon before the face mask becomes the seatbelt and is mandatory for everyday use, year round and forever.

As for the mask in the car, I've done that not even realizing I was still wearing it until I got home. I can assure you I wasn't trying to "virtue signal". Also, my wife leaves it on in the car because she would rather not fiddle with it between stops. If you get triggered when you see other drivers with a mask on, I'd suggest staying home.

So you want to resist masks today to prevent masks when this is over? Where has that ever happened? Other countries have used masks and none of them required it outside a pandemic (to my knowledge, just basing this on personal visits to said countries).

I too have forgot my mask was on...for very brief periods...and my wife does indeed laugh at me.
