I've given up on Doug's reviews. Last time we went shopping for cars we watched a bunch of his reviews and had completely different takeaways than he did.
For EV reviews, I think Bjorn from Norway is probably the best individual on YouTube. He wasn't a fan of the Mach's infotainment. He also didn't like that the steering wheel blocks the edges of the speedometer display. But overall, for the price, he recommended it.

It's hard to beat Tesla Model 3 or Y though.

The charging infrastructure for the Mach E is just not there, runs on Windows 7 (so, you can imagine), is bulky and inconvenient when you can find one that works. The UI is not well thought out. For instance, when you select a different air conditioner setting the ENTIRE screen goes to those modes and features, obscuring your map and nav. That matters in a vehicle with autonomous aspirations.
The Model Y is still the only practical choice, and a good choice it is.

Wife and I are in Baton Rouge today and test drove a Mustang Mach-E. Premium Trim. Black, Black interior. We sat in one a few weeks ago but didn’t get to test drive it. I really enjoyed the test drive . Steering was responsive. Ride was good. Acceleration was ok. Any Tesla would smoke it on the launch. It seems to hesitate ever so slightly then launch. Salesman said the GT version will launch immediately. I played around with the infotainment system for a long time on this one today and I’ll admit it, the other one we sat in, I didn’t care for it too much but after sitting and playing around with it, it’s very easy to navigate, very responsive unlike the VW ID.4. I looked at one of those and I was less than impressed. The screen flat out sucked on the ID.4 that I looked at. Very very laggy and locked up a couple times. I have some good pictures. I’ll try to upload some in a bit. We drove it(Mach-E) about 15-20 miles. After this hands on, I must say, overall, Ford did a nice job. Not perfect but would I own one after this test drive? Probably. I want to see the Nissan Ariya later this year as well. Neighbor is head of finance office at local Nissan dealership and he said they’ll get their first one in December. Subject to change of course .

But with like every new car, it will take a couple of years before the full potential of the platform.
My biggest complain about the Tesla is...no apple car play and you don’t have the speedometer infringe of you.

I can't see Elon adding it because Tesla is all about providing their own solutions. But it would be pretty nice. The speedometer thing is hard to get used to, but after a week or two I just look on the screen for that. I hardly notice it.
