Not picking a fight but, is it possible you assumed too much? I would imagine he would agree with you if you asked him.

I am for a retiree medical plan since there isn't one. I am also for a better medical plan for everybody. How's that for inclusivity?.....(But I also realize that at least 1 active pilot will be saying, "if we didn't have to fund a retiree medical plan then I could have gotten more for my group".....that is the nature of negotiations. There are winners and bigger winner in good times, and losers and bigger losers in bad times. It's the nature of the beast and why getting memrat was so important years ago.

BTW, TED74 wants $$$ attached to proposals......your's will be very expensive. approx ...$10,000 per pilot. Then the problems of who gets it? And, "I have Tricare, that doesn't do jack for me"....and, "my spouse works ,we use her insurance"....and, " I'm not married while JimBob is and has 10 kids".... etc etc.....then it turns into a divisive food fight. These arguments do have merit....but again, that's the nature of contracts for the masses.

BTW x 2....all keyboard warriors, you are welcome to disagree with me but maybe ask a question if you think clarification is in order.

This is why I favor the HSA for more control. Lower premiums and triple tax advantage. That way I make money off my cash rather than the insurance company. Moreover, if I pay medical expenses out of pocket my actual cost reduces over time as HSA balance compounds

That’s their insurance in 2021 after concessions in their last contract.

Based on how I’ve seen him treat some of the guys on here. I would just be called an entitled millenial that doesn’t understand anything. I’ve also had it super easy in my career.

Wow, that’s only $75/month more than an HSA plan here.

for anyone who does not have it infront of them, for comparison our DPMP plan is $723/month.

As far as the PERP program - retired Pilots returning, yeah it sucked but the alternative was worse. So when you have two bad options isn't it better to choose the least bad? DAL had mismanaged its crew resources, as always, and we were between a rock and a hard place - there was no magical "tough guy" solution that we missed.

Like I said I am skeptical on carve out and am amused that Pilots among those making 250K + within 3 years are mocking a 20 year Pilot making 175K who just lost his planned for DB. I am 100% against bringing back the DB but lets not lose the ability to see things from others POV.

And for every Captain making 175K there were 5-15 year FOs making sub 100K (yours truly ) who are rapidly approaching retirement with some already retired.

Scoop
The PRP program was a company ask in return for the Early out program to retire 600 plus pilots and get all the furloughed pilots back on the property. As pointed out many times the average PRP pilot stayed 6 weeks beyond retirement. The PRP’s who stayed longer were all check airman needed to move the training along. A few LCA’s managed to get a year past retirement. This was primarily on the 7ER fleet driven by a DH FAA 767 POI who refused to qualify more than 2 new LCA’s per month.

49% of Delta pilots are below average.

I don’t know where I fit in this demographic, probably in the 40’s, who knows?

No one bids to not fly with me, as of yet.

I want to just be happy and have a pint at the end of the day.

Um no. The only thing that brought back the furloughees was an arbitrators ruling and even then we had to argue what the historic training capacity of the training center was because the company didn't want that many bodies on property.
