Maybe maybe not. Lots of people have gotten the ER that can bid into the 765 with only having been in category 9 months, since that’s legal.

If you’re into variety the NYC 7ER bid pack actually looks really nice for May. A lot of people might not want to switch over and take the seniority hit for the increase in pay.

you can go to the 767-400 (765) 9 months into a 7ER freeze.

I'm pretty sure that isn't how that works. If 7ER training took 13 or more curriculum days your category freeze is 24 months. If after that freeze expires you bid and are awarded 767-400 your next freeze will be only 9 months, but I don't think you can break the 7ER freeze to go to 765.

whoops I will have to re-read up on it. My apologies. I had heard that to be the case but totally possible I’m Mis-remembering.

but anecdotally, I know someone who just trained up on the 765 and had been on the 7ER just over a year since award date…
