I completely agree, NH’s to WB are relegated to a Covid peculiarly.

I believe that new hires have gotten 7ER off and on since 2014 at least. IIRC there were a few that got it back in 2010?

from discussions with pilots from before 2014, NH used to not have a seat lock. I think that is a huge part of the reason.

Lots of older pilots have mentioned their only options in indoc were 727C or 737 express B, but in some cases it only took a few months before they could bid another position. I’ve flown with more than a couple pilots hired in 96-97 who told me they were 7ER B s before they were off probation.

I can only imagine the (even worse) training nightmare we would have had post Covid if NH did not have a seat lock.

Hiring started to ramp up late summer/early autumn 2021, those guys are all losing their locks soon, that’ll bring a lot of possible bidders to WB B.

C12 had a 1 year NH seat lock. I can’t speak to before that.

but they’re all too junior to hold it anyways. WBB is in the 11’s but not 12’s+

maybe next year if 67 doesn’t pass and the deliveries hold up

back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we had 727C or 727C. And those that got to stay were on it for 5+ years.

Starting Indoc in about 5 weeks. So with seat locks for a lot of people expiring soon is it silly to bid WB (if a spot is even available) considering I might get displaced or just take the WB spot if it’s available? Would I be displaced if someone Senior to me bid for the ER?
