As such, by my crayon math, this is my best guess for available unbid vacancies which can be offered to the early Jan Indoc class(es)*:

7ER (757/767 'classic')
- NYC: 30

73N
- ATL: 15
- LAX: 7
- NYC: 25
- SEA: 8

320
- DTW: 20
- NYC: 10
- SEA: 0
- SLC: 2

220
- NYC: 15

717
- DTW: 25

Total: 157

* When a pilot bids out of a category, it offsets one pilot who bids in. The net of the posted vacancies are available to NH's. Each new AE resets the list, so the late Jan classes can only be offered unbid positions from the Jan AE, which will close/publish around the 15/16th of Jan, give or take.
Fangs - does that mean they can't offer SEA and SLC 220s to backfill all the folks who switched base?

I'm not exactly sure on the language and if it specifically has to be offered as an open position on the AE, BUT, if there were zero backfills for positions that were bid out, it's entirely probable they chose not to backfill which means those positions were not "unbid" and therefore not eligible for new hires.

Depends. If there are no backfills because no one bid those positions then yes, they can be offered to new hires. If there were people (even just one person really) who had eligible bids in for those positions but the company chose not to award them then they cannot go to new hires.

I had an eligible bid in for SLC220B. Just not senior enough to fill the backfills available at the time of bid. I think a lot bid out of SLC so maybe January AE for me once the dust settles from December

I was in a very similar situation two years ago. Half a dozen, maybe more of us got NYC220 in Oct 23, and several bid to SLC/SEA and received it before training was over. Results may vary, but once you're in a fleet, it is easier to get a base change, including a backfill, because no training in required. Good luck!

Just FYI.. delta is saying classes all year 2026 minus the summer. So, hopefully a strong year of hiring ahead relatively speaking. Good luck.

That’s not that many. What happened to 2000+?

Source? I'm not doubting you, just wondering where you saw/heard that.
