keep in mind that that 24 month ca is going to be junior for a loooong time so the honeymoon phase will be short lived (by way of trips, vacation, ability to manipulate schedule, etc).

BTW, it won't be 20 years. It will probably be less than 10, which is more like the historical average, obtw. If you are successful in a legacy interview, you will still be a multi-millionaire, and have a great career. I'd strongly advise anyone looking for a CJO not to poison yourself by constantly giving the side eye to someone who had a lucky birthday (or SSN, or...)

Depending on your class date, you may be in luck... AE just posted with 55 DTW 320 B vacancies. The vast, vast majority of them will go unfilled, and therefore the NH's in Late Jan/Early-Mid Feb.

Does the new hire allotment reset at bid close or bid award? And do the new hires have to start class prior the reset or does their pre-class bid have to close prior to the reset?

Don’t know exactly but I believe when the award comes out the unfilled positions will be offered to the coming new hire classes.

Award.....because they don't know what the unfilled slots are until the awards have been processed.

Not trying to pile on here, but this kind of covetous FOMO attitude is poison - most especially to yourself. Don't measure your happiness by someone else's incredibly good (and lucky) fortune.

Hired at 35 a person would have 30 years. 15 as FO and 15 as CA would be a good career. Standard progression would give consistent raises each year and equipment bumps every few years. That's how I looked at it back in the dark ages. My timing wasn't great but I can't imaging it's BAD for for anyone coming here.
