The 737 is redeemed by the pay and the fact that anywhere on the seniority list you can do some form of Caribbean flying. Junior or Senior you’re somehow going South for the winter.

The 220 pays significantly less and doesn’t have the same base flexibility. New hires probably go to it hoping for better short term seniority because they know it’s growing in the now. 73 probably went junior on this bid because it was NYC. If I was getting forced into NYC, I’d pick the plane that gave me the best shot at short term seniority.

I may be staring down the barrel of commuting to NYC starting this fall. So I'm definitely weighing my options of 220, 73N, or 7ER.

7ER is 95% JFK 5% EWR and you likely won't get EWR unless you bid for it, or get it off SC.

It does simplify the triumvrate of insanity that NYC can be.

2/4 trips this month are EWR, but "award trips reporting in EWR" is like line 3 in my bid if not reserve. But I live in NJ.

Is there a 13 Jan class? Their options should be out around now as well right?

Interesting... I'm not sure if having mostly JFK starts is better if I'm commuting down from BGR. I honestly have no idea, I've never commuted.

I think the number will likely be closer to double, but we shall see as the year progresses.

These classes aren’t all filled yet, are they? I just got the AON invite email and I’m curious when I could potentially end up in class (I realize I’m still a ways out in the process and haven’t even received an actual interview invite yet)

No, invites have not been sent out to fill all these classes. The Endeavor flows are also included in these numbers.

Keep in mind, these numbers are subject to change daily. Traditionally, during typical hiring years, we tend not to hire much in the summer, as we are short-staffed and the instructors come back to the line. However, if the need for additional hires arises, I expect there may be some early fall classes as well.

ask anybody under 35 if they want to fly the 737. The younger generation has been hardwired to hate the 737, mostly due to learning in glass aircraft. Prediction: 737 will become junior as retirements continue and younger pilots are hired.
