The screens in the 737NG's (and 767-400's) are straight from the 777. It's a fairly modern glass cockpit in that regard.

Just don't look too far up.

It's less Children of the Magenta, and more Tray table Toddlers: we've all embraced the avionics revolution. Now there's no need for a modern airliner cockpit be cramped, noisy, uncomfortable and lack creature comforts.

the NG and max are both glass airplanes. I flew it. Nobody is scared of it they just don’t want to be doing added work or sitting in an incredibly cramped and loud flightdeck for hours at a time with rubber bands over the pedestal. Most of us flew RJ’s/Tprops w/ less automation. I never understood the die hard defending of that airplane. ER I understood the cult. The guppy not so much.

They can have it! More seats of culture and class for the rest of us. *Sips tea from a porcelain cup while nibbling on a croissant at a tray table*

It's the APU thread and New Hire thread crossover we always needed!

I flew the 737 previously at another carrier and now on the 220 here. I’d much rather fly the 73 but I make more money on the 220. I’m firmly in the under 35 category.

Loved my time on the Dog. And you def needed both hands to start those JT8's. Fangs, you didn't like the cable connected bleed levers? What about the ole dial-a-flap? I loved the old DC-3 era knob levers on it too. A very cool airplane and had features on it back in the day not many airliners had.

I miss the smoke and noise when those things were taking off. Yes, waxing nostalgic here. Plenty of things to hate about that airplane (steel brakes, bucket reversers etc) but it was a pilots airplane and it never let me down.
