Of course, but will new hires see that? Maybe, I don't know the answer.

Thanks for the responses. It looks like they really need to keep a number of airframes on property and alot of new bodies.

Hell, new hires can hold ATL 7ERB if the company ever gives the unbid positions to new hire classes.

One last question, as first yr pay is equal, and seat lock is 2yrs, one could potentially get a higher 2nd yr pay with a base transfer on year 2 if that original aircraft isn't at that new base?. (Yr 1, 220-320,yr2)?
Thanks
for those reading, this mind set is very narrow visioned. Pay rates don’t always equal better pay. I gained much faster seniority on the 88 than my peers on the ER or 73. Despite the lower pay rate, I held a line faster and was able to get green slips while they had neither and sat reserve. Guess who could make more working equal or less?

And that was a great strategy way back when you got hired but it’s not necessarily true today when the company is hiring 150 per month for the next year or more. Now, guys can have 30 NH under them in category by the time they start training and 60-70 by the time they finish OE. They are not likely to sit reserve as long as back in the day. There’s just too much hiring for that. Disclaimer: Each NH is obligated to look at the playing field, numbers, and do their own research.

As a NH awaiting class date, where would I be able to look at numbers before indoc?

If you are holding a line and doing GS’s you are prob working more than anyone on reserve that isn’t. That’s the biggest problem with having a line is that you actually have to fly it plus the greenies(unless you are bought off obviously).

You can make way more as a line holder doing green slips but you really have to do a lot of flying you can makes in my opinion a little bit less on reserve doing Greenslip’s if you’re not rolling thunder but you usually don’t have to work anywhere near as hard.
