Stupid question, but what is passing for the cognitive portions of the AON? I’ve been using CUT-E online practice tests but not knowing what benchmark we’re trying to hit has my anxiety pegged. I also got a 12/21 Top Tier email and am waiting on an assessment invite.

Also, thanks to all those who are sharing their experiences with the group. These forums are awesome for crowdsourcing information.

I had the exact same worry about not knowing the benchmark we’d be aiming for on cut-e. Just know that the actual assessment is easier than the cut-e ones and there are some changes in which exams are on the actual one as you’ve probably read. I thought I did mediocre on my actual assessment but still got the interview invite. (Also received the top tier email on 1/21 and received the assessment invite about a week ago)

There is no benchmark as it is all top secret. Seriously, do your best. My guess is each game is scored based on different parameters. More on accuracy vs speed. They want the person who's willing to take the time to run a checklist vs trying to get it done in a hurry and makes mistakes

Awesome, thanks for the help!

Personally the only CUT-E test I found really useful was the ”bearing to station” exercise. The others are okay, but the actual assessment isn’t as awkward. The skills test available on the AA pilot application site is also by AON and the sudoku, monitoring (counting moving dots), reaction speed (matching shapes) are identical. The multitasking is similar and a good exercise but the Delta test is different.

Psych test is probably the hardest portion. Just be honest and avoid extremes. So far as how it’s scored, that’s a mystery. I’ve heard that they balance your score with your resume and/or the only really important part is the psych test…but I don’t think anyone except the hiring department really knows.

Has anyone from Skywest been hired outside of the GPI program? I’ve had my polished app in since December. Haven’t heard a peep. 3800 TT, close to 1000 PIC, clean PRIA, clean background, and a 4-year degree.

I’m aware of the context behind your comment. I’ve been in the industry for a while. I’m asking this because I’ve been reading of these 1-month turnarounds, fix-it emails, and so on, and realizing I might be a little behind the curve. I also fly with a lot of FOs getting picked up with barely a year on property. Hope you’ll excuse my curiosity.
