Hey everyone,

I completed my online application to Delta in August but haven't heard a single thing and just wondering if anyone could provide any insight in terms of why. I had my application professionally reviewed, clean background, ex military, currently typed on the 73, a couple LORs with 1100 hrs on F18 and 1800TT. I'm guessing it's my total time but I am curious to hear what you think or how it compares to your data. My app review company doesn't have much else for me except to try to make it to a recruiting event which I think is a good idea.

Any thoughts?

I should specify that the reason I am asking this is not because I think I'm owed anything from Delta but because I have CJO's and class dates at other Majors but haven't heard anything from Delta. So Im just trying to understand the difference experiences between Delta and the other Majors that's all. Delta is still my top choice so Im going to keep my app updated, attend a recruiting event and hope for the best.

Cheers

Your TT is good. It is very common for fighter pilots to be hired with 1500-2000 TT. Especially with lots of recency. Your application sounds competitive. Have some peers give it another proofread for perfection. Otherwise, keep updating and keep the faith. I don't think you'll have too hard of a time getting hired. It may just not be as soon as you like with the insane hiring rates being tamed a bit.

What's your availability date?

My timeline:
App pulled on 2/28
AON invite 2/29
Assessment completed 3/5
Interview Invite 3/6

One available interview invite next week and 8 opportunities in April. I think i'm going to go with mid-April interview. Is there a current CJO to class start date timeline?

Roughly 1900 TT here, most in F16. I submitted in August as well. Didn't hear anything until I did a virtual meet and greet mid December. Then the process rapidly accelerated. My availability date is mid-April. CJO last week, at the interview the group of us seemed to have extremely similar availabilities. 2 takeaways - highly recommend doing a meet and greet or recruiting event, and your availability date seems to play a big factor on timing.

Hiring told us last week to expect 8 +/-2ish weeks, background check dependent.

Did your AON invite email look similar to the the pre-invite? I got the "AON Assessment Eligible" email (which I assume is what you mean by AON pre-invitation), but haven't heard anything else in over a week.

IF you can swing the next week interview, id go with that. Ill preface this with saying I am not in pilot selection nor do I have any way to officially substantiate the following but anecdotally speaking interview classes are getting smaller and the number of CJOs given out proportionally so. What is competitive next week may no longer be competitive in April.

Take that with a huge grain of salt but if it were me and assuming you can feel comfortably ready to answer questions about your life experiences to very welcoming interviewers by next week Id go with the earliest possible interview offered. Just something to consider. Good luck!

Terrible terrible advise. Everyone should have at least 3 weeks to a month to get their interview prep done. If the person take the interview next week and screw up, then it has to wait 3 more months to re do it.

If already have an interview invitation, this person is competitive.

Yes, there’s certain hurry to get into class and seniority, but there’s also some kind of caution to be taken. If you rush and fail, you would kick yourself up to wait 3 months.
