I interviewed with a guy in Feb that got a TBNT in Oct or Nov of last year. The timeline may not be accurate anymore with the slowdown in hiring, but it’s as least a data point.

Availability date changed due to military orders. Got pushed back beyond the 6 month timeline for the CJO. So CJO was “declined”…Delta said, “Thank you for giving us the chance to consider you for employment as a Delta Pilot. This letter serves as confirmation that you have declined our Conditional Job Offer…We invite you to update your application once you have a confirmed date of separation and a reliable date of availability. You do not need to submit a new application. Your current application will be available for review and consideration as long as you provide updates at least once every 90 days.”

Don’t think there is any “cooling off period” for that. Just update app. Be prepared to explain dispassionately. Good luck.

People are still waiting for class dates from Feb.

For those who are wondering I was a 3/19 CJO and I got a 6/18 class date. Almost EXACTLY 12 weeks which was their estimate for indoctrination training. In my case I deferred this class once for a very important life event that I disclosed in the interview. In their reply email they made it clear that their policy is “a one-time deferral to the next class date—look for that invitation in the coming weeks. Congratulations on [life event]!” It’s been a week, so I take it I will be getting that email to the next class within another 7-10 days.

So I failed the assessment, received an email saying not to reapply and to to update my application at least 3 months from the date of the email. Anyone have any experience with this? I will continue to update my app but just curious in this environment am I pretty much toast or what? Cant imagine I'm the first to fail so looking for any insight. Unforutnate email to wake up to but trying not to lose faith. Thanks in advance.

NOT to reapply or to reapply in 3 months?

Actually says "please do not create a new application, being reconsidered is a manual process" and "after (3) months, my application will be reviewed again with other competitive candidates".

Ok, now it make sense. Just update your app in 3 months. You’re not the first person to fail the cog, most get them again after 3 months.

Said anothe way, updating your app after 3 months IS your reapplication.

You aren't the first, and won't be the last. It sucks to lose 3 months, but hiring has slowed down enough that it won't hurt your timing much. Keep your chin up, and hopefully the next time goes better (there are several places that can help you prepare for the assessment, look around these boards). Best of luck.

Hi all,

quick q... Been back and forth with consultants as well as DL Pilots and the recruitment team. I have been unsuccesful finding a direct answer. In the type rating/certificate section there is an option for "turbo jet" "b737" or "large aircraft" ....I have turbo fan and turbo prop time, but not turbo jet. I was recently told to select that option to indicate as it indicates jet rating/experience. Whats your consensus?
