Dumb question, is there anywhere someone has posted a "trip report" on their start to finish interview process that details the whole thing?

Check out aviationinterviews.com. On that website you will see a lot of people post about their experience on interview day, and many of them go quite in depth. It also has a list of 200+ questions that you could get asked on the interview. I believe its $20/month to access this information for 1 company, and $40/month to have access to 5 companies. It was well worth the money in my opinion.

There’s nothing to deflate, I got a good thing going now, I only figured with the odd time in the industry it might be worth finally trying 121 if I could get into one of the big three, if not no big deal

Interview scheduled in a couple weeks.

Did a review of my app and noticed a very embarrassing and careless data entry error (College GPA - transposed my records and entered my High School GPA).

I know DL is a big-time stickler for attention to detail and this sort of thing will be viewed as unacceptable to them.

As such, sent an email to Pilot Selection confessing to the error, and deferring to their judgement on whether I’d have my interview slot rescinded, or have it remain as scheduled. No reply from them.

Any words of wisdom here for someone feeling pretty down and out at the moment?

Thanks

Delta would drop you over that?

Stop sweating it. It’s an app with hundreds of boxes, you’re going to fat finger something.
-You caught it
-You fixed it
-You were honest about it

If they ask, it was a human mistake. “Whoops, I’m sorry guys, I wish I caught it on submission, but I’m glad I screened through it again before coming down.”

You'll go over the full app on a paper copy when you're at the interview. When they ask just bring it up, and note that you did email to own up to your mistake. I forgot to put the training course where I earned my commercial (military). I thought I screwed up big time. Got the job.

Did you fix your college GPA up or down? How big was the change? If your app said 3.5 and you adjusted it to 3.7 or 3.3, it probably won't even come up. If it was marked 4.0 but was actually 2.5 that's going to come up in the interview but as others have said own up to the mistake and you can still easily land the job. I haven't heard of anyone actually having an interview invite rescinded, and certainly not for one single data entry error.

Actually there is a rhyme and reason.

Someone recently posted (can't remember in which thread) that they reached out to pilot hiring about the delay between top tier and invite to test and was told that availability date was the #1 factor.

So someone gets their top tier email now (to let them know DL is interested), but if they aren't available until 6 months from now, they aren't going to receive the invite to test right away, hence the delay.

Thanks, appreciate the insight and reassurance.

Tough to not continue feeling down on myself given the stakes. Hoping for the best.
