Long Shot

Ok this may seem like a long shot, but has anyone gotten in without an ATP? I meet all the requirements including having CTP and the written done. I have 1000 hours Turbine and will soon have 500 Turbine PIC, but its looking like its going to be hard to get my ATP done at my current company. I know delta only requires the written, but just wondering if anyone has actually gotten the job without it, especially non mil guys.

Me and 2 buddies all recieved CJOs (1 has completed training, the others are waiting on class dates). We only had the written, but all 3 were mil. So it does happen, but I have no idea how common non-mil are.

Only if you're military.

Did you all do the ATP-CTP through Delta? If so, how long after submitting for the LOR did you hear back?

2 weeks after submitting my app I got top tier. 2 weeks after that I got the assessment invite and an interview invite the day after finishing the assessment. I didn't have my ATP during any of that (I was actually at FTI getting my ATP when I did the assessment and got the interview). Military dude and did my ATP-CTP at Delta last year.

I’d agree that it is a long shot, like you suggest. Keep working though, your competition is.

As hiring goes back to normal, it’s going to get more competitive. Do whatever you can to get that extra box checked. I’ve heard of a few mil pilots get in with written only before the COVID hiring boom (what I’m basing “normal” off of) but no civilian.

Awesome thanks. I submitted in October (without mins) and have been updating weekly. In march I met mins and submitted for the ATP-CTP LOR. I also have my unrestricted ATP. Mil as well. I've heard nothing.

I have a few mil buddies with solid credentials that haven't heard anything either. I'm not sure what the differentiator is, the easy guess is something in the app that's not right that's preventing it being scored or something, but if your app has been professionally reviewed, that's probably not it. I'd just see if there's any additional discriminators you can check to boost your chances (volunteer work, additional quals/training, more hours).

Thanks for the advice. I've used Spitfire for review.
