I absolutely get what you are saying, and you aren't wrong.
To the OP, the point is don't skimp on a multi-million dollar career opportunity by wearing your dad's suit, or one that clearly doesn't fit, or is wrinkled, or... No it doesn't have to be a blue suit, but also realize the vast, vast majority of applicants will be wearing a blue suit, with a white shirt, and maybe a little color other than a red tie. There absolutely have been people hired wearing grey suits, and even tan. But that is a super bold choice. The best suit to wear is the one you’re confident in. (Unless it’s the birthday variety) |

You don't need a brand new suit.

Thanks for all the advise! Yes, I have a brand new navy blue suit. Quite expensive and nice. 😂 I wouldn’t dare skimp on this golden opportunity. I was looking for advise on getting up to ATL only.
I think the sweater/pullover after TSA is the best. It’ll look quite conservative if done right. Thanks again everyone! I hope I make it! |

Grey suit, blue tie, purple pocket square. Fortune favors the bold.

Assessment Email
Received assessment email Monday. Anything new I should be aware of or look out for?

There is no way they want all of someone’s long expired/superseded certificates. It’s not likely that the large majority of airline pilots even have all of that anymore. We would have an extremely hard time filling classes even with younger pilots, let alone older more experienced ones, if everyone had to furnish copies of dozens of hole punched certificates LOL!
I’d actually like to see their faces in the extremely unlikely event someone did scan and include every superseded certificate, medical, written test, etc. I doubt anyone has ever even tried to do that. Money to charity that there is no way that’s the correct interpretation. Your “mole” either got it wrong (I doubt anyone in the actual process ever thought or thinks this) or something was lost in translation (more likely). Just got the CJO from Delta. I never had any other certificates than PPL, Commercial, ATP, but all I uploaded and brought to the interview was my current ATP certificate. I had extras along with me in case I was asked about it but it never came up. 99% certain that they don't want expired/original issue certificates. |
Application status: “interviewing”
I just completed my AON assessment on the 17th. Checked my application before and after the assessment. It went from “assessment in progress” to “interviewing”. Still no email from the company. Does this mean I passed and just need to be patient?

spatial orientation (rmi) deductive reasoning (sudoku) multi tasking (math, pattern, moving the plane) foreign atc clearances workplace behaviors i was scoring 70% or higher on the practice tests so I just decided to take the AON and my application now says interviewing. (I think that means I passed?) if it helps I thought I completely bombed the sudoku and guessed on almost half of them. |

The suit color is waaaaaay overblown. The DL recruiting FB page has debunked this many times. Any well-tailored, conservative colored suit will do. Yes, avoid the white or red pimp suits. But don’t go buy a new blue suit if you have a perfectly good grey one in your closet.
This. Most pilots that get hired have a blue suit and red tie. Not because that’s what they prefer. Just because that’s what most wear. But as long as it looks professional I don’t think anyone cares and know first hand of pilots with grey, black and even green suits have gotten hired and with many variants of ties as long as it looks professional and goes with the rest. |
