Honestly I care less about what uniform I have to wear and more about making sure DL pays for it.
I think RAH pilots have a very good uniform allowance policy, IIRC they get, each year, fully company paid
4x shirts
2x pants
1x hat
$150 for shoes
additionally they get a jacket and suitcase at regular intervals (I think 2 or 3 years) and ties and epaulettes as well.
if someone knows better than me please chime in.

The uniform is broken when the first thing your’re told as a new hire is to get Haagar pants or go to Kohls. Not only are we the cousin at a wedding wearing a short sleeve and a tie, but also the mis-matched jacket/pants combo. If all else fails, I hope we at least get a uniform centennial pin.

Yeah long sleeve guys, jury is still out with me. Speaking for myself, I have to wear something to cover me as I have some skin cancer issues I need to deal with. So I use the slip on Adidas sun protection sleeves (SPF 50 protection) on my arms when I fly. I just slide them on. Work great. That way I don't wear the long sleeve shirt as I find them pretty uncomfortable. The Adidas sleeves work good and I can take them off whenever I need to versus the long sleeve shirt

I wasn't advocating for paid dry cleaning because I just don't see it as that much of a benefit. However, I do see your point about our "required" uniforms items are dry-clean only.
Or they've had skin cancer. Flown with a few guys who've had to wear long sleeves for that reason.

IDK what the FAs get. Another data point in addition to RAH ‘s benefit posted above was at OO I got $100 every 6 months to spent at crew outfitters or M&H. In general I think we should be trying to get DL to cover as many of the expenses that we incur from working for DL. (Like uniforms and maybe dry cleaning like what was mentioned with UAL)

Try the Adidas sleeves. I tried several different brands, they are a little more expensive, I think $20 a pair, but they fit well and are pretty non-intrusive when you wear them. They wick away sweat too. Very light weight, you hardly know you have them on. The white is a good match for our uniform shirts. Some people will see you in the cockpit with them on, so I try to keep it tuned down. Give them a shot. I like them and use them all the time.
