Can anyone else confirm/deny this information? Will the Vortex fit in all overhead bins normally like a normal 22inch LuggageWorks bag? This would be a deal breaker for me too.

Anybody else have an opinion on the LW Stealth Multi-Purpose cube or the Aerocoast EFB Pro Cooler II? I'm looking at combo/cooler bags as well. No laptop to haul around; just a personal iPad plus the issued iPad (and headset).

Biggest issue I have right now is the headset compartment will only fit a Bose ProFlight outside of the case and good luck with the A20 (case or no case). You need the size of the cooler compartment.

Otherwise, the pockets are useful and laptop compartment is good. I may need to go to a regular Tote bag with just a big open space in the middle.

As for the Aerocoast bag, I saw it in person and the top compartment is smaller than it looks. Can barely fit a headset case and iPad in there. The cooler compartment was pretty large, however. I ruled this bag out.

A Telex 850 in its case just fits in the top of the aero coast cooler. The cooler itself is good, doesn’t leak water when your ice pack pops, and keeps pretty cold. I’m happy with it. A larger headset would probably have to hang outside the bag. I guess you could sacrifice some spaghetti space though too.

My Andare arrived yesterday.

I'm a bag snob, and I was skeptical about this thing. However, I am pleasantly surprised. It appears to be well made and has a quality feel to the zippers, wheels, etc.

For $79, delivered, no tax, and with a warranty--I'm impressed. The long term test drive will be the ultimate decider!

I’ve been using the heavy metal LW suitcase + Pilot bag the past 6 years. Not impressed in the least and finally gave up on them-too heavy and falling apart. I also went with the Andare 3 piece set. I’m on my 3rd trip with this set. At $140 I feel like I stole it. I went from 2 bags that cost $500 to 2 bags that cost $140 (no tax/free shipping) and the quality honestly feels like the prices should be reversed. Absolutely love them.

I almost did the 3 piece set but I chickened out. Do you use the "personal tote" or the "lunch tote"? Big enough for a headset?

The personal tote-plenty of room to fit anything I carry including my Clarity aloft case, coffee mug, food, tablet, charger etc. It’s the perfect size bag IMO. Most bags this size are $120 and they send you two for an extra $60-like I said it feels like a steal.

Quick follow up to the Andare luggage. For those that have it, I was curious how solid the handle is? That's one thing I actually like about the LuggageWorks bag is that the handle is pretty solidly connected to the bag. I tried to go to a different bag a year ago or so and the handle ended up being so flimsy and had so much flex in it I didn't like it and went back to the LuggageWorks.

The handle feels plenty sturdy to me. And it has less play than the LW handle, as you might guess. But with the release mechanism integrated into the grab handle instead of at the base of the handle bars, I find I have to hold it differently so as not to cause it to release. The counterweight of my second bag means I’m usually pushing down on the handle to balance it while walking instead of pulling it…and that downward pressure occasionally causes the handle to release - annoying.
