If soft pay was so amazing, WBAs would be bidding down to NBA en masse
Let's also not forget the largest pay raises were on the WB side last time.

I don't agree. Much rather be on NB.

While we don't personally agree, it's hard to ignore the seniority distribution that says otherwise

Sudden change of topic, but is there anywhere we can look to find flight plans or some other record from past flights? And I don't mean yesterday, I mean from a year or two ago.

It's in the company's interest to create division in the membership. By running QS so close to departure they guarantee that a senior commuter won't get the trip.

I agree. I’m convinced the company is attacking us every way possible. Preposting rest so pilots can’t adjust schedule, eliminating use of banked PB days, intentionally wrecking trip coverage ladder, reliability letters, threatening commuters that are following FOM policy, etc. This is most hostile it’s been during my time as a post bankruptcy hire.

If they're trying to divide the pilot group, it seems the opposite is happening. Since they are deciding to attack us from all angles, even if PB days or sick leave weren't an issue for you, they are finding ways to **** off everyone in different ways.

They are using Silver Slips in the same manner as preposting rest. Once it starts to soak, no one can even swap into it, even if you want to give up a trip with a late report that could easily be covered by a reserve and you want a trip with an early report. They are cutting their nose off to spite their faces. They haven't figured out that pilots will happily wait until they start carving up trips to make them more palatable and then give out all kinds of premium to cover them as multiple pieces of the same pie.

I'm the furthest thing from a company apologist, but at least in my category I've noticed that rotations sit in OT for at least a couple days before being designated as a silver slip to soak. There are plenty of opportunities to swap into them.

of course but once they starting soaking I've never seen them undesignate them back as normal OT. plans change for pilots daily so even if a trip sits in OT for a while, the need to swap can always arise after one starts to soak. by then you may be stuck with something you want to get rid of. my category usually sees SS a week or more in advance of the report date. so, this aspect of a SS can be a QOL hinderance and I say that as someone who has flown several of them.
